rude costumer

"Okay sir. Just one-one second please. The machine -the machine is messing up."
The man huffs and taps his foot.
"Come on, boy. I've got places to be."
"I'm sorry. It's not working right. You'll- you'll have to give me a second. I'm sorry."
Dan turns his head. The pretty cashier is talking to a customer. In fact it was the cashier that made Dan come back to the store. Dan passed two stores on his way here but he kept coming here. That cashier boy was the cutest thing Dan was had even seen. Dan was so lost in his thoughts he didn't notice how heated the man at the register got.
"I need to leave. Hurry up."
"I'm trying to. The machine is short circuiting."
"If you dont hurry up, I will leave 20 pounds and leave."
"Expect the would be stealing.  You obviously have more than 20 pounds worthy of groceries." Dan says.
The man grunts at him. "This doesn't concern you."
"You are being rude for no reason. And i don't find that very pleasant."
The man rolls his eyes. "Go back to your shopping."
Dan shakes his head smirking. "I don't want to. What I'd like is for you to stop harassing this poor guy. You don't what he is going through today and also the machine is messing up. Also I doubt you have any places to be. And if you do, I really doubt people want you there, anyways."
The man stands there dumbfounded. Dan gives the man a smile. After a few seconds the cashier finally fixed the machine and the man payed. He left and the cashier turned to dan.
"Thank you for stepping in."
"Of course. They name is Dan by the way."
"Phil. Is there anyway I can repay you? I mean- you didn't have to help..."
"Let me take on a date tomorrow. 5:30, the coffee shop down the road."
Phil smiles. "Sounds lovely. I look forward to it."
"As do I."
Dan smiles at Phil and walks out. Forgetting to by dinner for tonight, but smiling to himself all the way home.
