All I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
Was to watch the sun set
With a cup of coffee in my hand
And a box of chocolate on my lap.
All I ever asked
was to see the earth
to go to foreign countries
With the clumsy curiosity of a tourist.
All I ever wanted
Was the joy of little miracles no one notices
The smell of the damp earth after a dry spell
And when it is heated when the sun is as hot as hell
All I ever wanted
Was to live bonhomie
With no worries or fears
No sleepless nights, no tears
All I ever wanted
Was to be wanted
And the truth is
All I wanted was to be happy.
