It was dusk when Sasuke finally arrived home. Fatigue engrossed his body as he sighed in exhaustion, his bag feeling heavier and heavier as he carried it on his shoulder. Being the School President and being part of a numerous of a school clubs took its toll on the raven.

Sasuke walked in, removing his shoes and taking of his jacket, he heard hushed talking indicating that both his mother and father were home. Scowling at hearing his father's voice, the raven tried to beeline to his room, hoping Fugaku wouldn't spot him.

'Please just let me avoid him...' Sasuke mentally prayed, not in the mood to listen to Fugaku's bitching about various things like how he isn't as good as Itachi or isn't as hardworking as him. Walking in a fast pace, his wishes were crushed when he heard his father's grave voice.

"Sasuke."

Stopping in his track, the raven turned to look at the older Uchiha while Mikoto followed and gave Sasuke a sweet smile.

"Welcome home love! Dinner is ready. Wash up and come down." Mikoto reminded before going to set up the table.

"Okay mother." Sasuke mumbled and turned to walk up the stairs before a cough from Fugaku interrupted his movements again. Sighing in irritation, he turned again to see this time that Fugaku had his arms crossed across his chest.

"You are late. Care to explain why?" His accusing voice echoed through the hallway.

Sasuke merely answered back in a monotone voice, trying to hide his irritation.

"I had after school activities to tend to." He blankly said, waiting to see if Fugaku was done with him or not.

The older raven-haired man snorted and scoffed.

"With all of that, you better also balance your academic work. You are slacking as it is." He scorned, his voice morphed into a belittling tone. Sasuke's onxy eyes narrowed before turning around and walking up the stairs, not sparing a glance at his father and not realising Mikoto had seen the exchange.

Sasuke slammed the sturdy door of his room and flopped down on his desk chair, dropping his bag on the bed and laying back on the seat. Running his fingers through his hair, he tried breathe deeply, a method of stress relief he had cultivated at a young age. Closing his eyes, Sasuke tried to clear his mind. A few minutes passed when he heard of knock on his door and the sound of his mother's soft voice interrupting the silence.

"Sasuke? May I come in?"

Turning around, Sasuke frowned but answered.

"Come in mother."

The door opened, revealing Mikoto, her eyes looking at her son in sympathy. Walking forward, she set her hand on his shoulder and the pale boy looked up at her in confusion.

"What is it mother?" He asked, his onxy eyes looking at her's in a questioning manner. Mikoto just sighed before smiling sadly.

"Fugaku is too harsh on you but he just wants you to follow in Itachi's footsteps and become as successful as him. It's for your best interest." Mikoto softly explained. Sasuke scoffed at her words before mumbling.

"Of course you would come to his defence." The younger grumbled, not surprised by his mother's words. Her eyes widened at Sasuke's tone.

"What does that suppose to mean?" She asked, a little miffed by her son's attitude. Sasuke exhaled, feeling tired from all of this.

"Nothing mother. I'll eat dinner later." He said, getting up and walking to his washroom to freshen up. Mikoto's eyes followed her son's movements and she frowned in sorrow before leaving his room.

Finishing up, Sasuke flopped onto his chair near his desktop, deciding to wind down by playing some Perfect World and talking to Kyubbi... or Menma as Sasuke recently got to know. Logging on, he decided to complete some main story quests as he had the necessary skills and weapons to continue onwards. Suddenly a ding from his speakers alerted him that he had gotten a message and Sasuke smirked.

Kyubbi: Sasuke! Hello! I was sooo bored. I need help! T_T

Sasuke chuckled, reading the message and decided to tease him.

Sharingan: Not strong enough to kill some monsters? Wow dobe...

Kyubbi: Stop being a bastard and help me!

Sharingan: Okay okay. Fine. Send a team invite.

The duo teamed up to complete some quests that Kyubbi needed help in and all the while they conversed about random stuff, teasing and insulting the other. Basically the usual conversations they always have.

Kyubbi: So how's life? You seem a bit down :(

Sasuke's eyebrows furrowed in surprise and confusion.

'What the hell... this guy is perceptive.' Sasuke thought in awe, wondering how Menma realised.

Sharingan: Stuff been stressful lately. How did you know? You stalk me or something?

Kyubbi: Lol don't flatter yourself. I have better things to do.

Kyubbi: Idk... from your messages I suppose.

Sasuke leaned back on his chair, cocking his head to the side. He wasn't that satisfied by the answer but he decided to let it go.

Sharingan: My dad's being a douche. He always is but couldn't deal with it today.

Kyubbi: Oh dude.. that sucks. I mean I haven't been in that situation but you want to talk about it? I'm an awesome rant receiver xD

Sasuke stared at the message, a feeling of warmth emerged seeing Menma's concern and he grinned a bit. The offer was sweet and something made Sasuke just unload his stress and feelings after suppressing it for most of his lifetime. Hours passed with Sasuke and 'Menma' sending each other messages and with each passing second, the tension that had built up inside Sasuke dissipated, making the raven forget about his father and his cruel words and Menma's words making him laugh and amusing him to no end.

Kyubbi: You know what dude. You do you. You don't need your dad's acceptance. You're doing really well for yourself so screw him and go on with your life ^_^

Sharingan: Lol thanks dude. Not sure if I should take advice from an internet friend but thanks for listening.

Kyubbi: No problem! I'm all ears if you need it xD

Kyubbi: Anyway I need to go. It's getting late. Goodnight Sasuke!

*Kyubbi went offline*

Sasuke smiled and looked at his clock, deciding to log off himself and get some sleep. Changing into a loose black t-shirt and sweatpants, the raven laid on his bed and for once in a long time, went to sleep with malice and anger in his thoughts.
