The Online Sort Of Love

Chapter 5

The wooden door creaked, the friction between the two surfaces producing a screeching sound as Sasuke walked in. The screeching resonated across through the silent building. Sasuke huffed out a sigh as his light footsteps moved up the stairs and into his monotone themed room. Slinging his bag onto the bouncy mattress, the pale boy changed from his uniform into comfier clothes. Lying on his bed, he plugged in his black headphones into his phone, clicked on a playlist of music and just laid there, his thoughts wondering back to blonde kid that just couldn't escape his mind. 

'Why is he so intriguing? He's just another kid but there's something about him. He looks so lonely... even when he isn't alone.'

'In a sense, I suppose he is like me.' 

With those thoughts, Sasuke closed his eyes and let the music drown him. 

Time skip

*Knock Knock*

"Sasuke?" A gruff voice reverberated through the door. Sasuke immediately opened his eyes, realising no more music was playing. Stretching his limbs as he walked towards his door, Sasuke groaned and opened it to see his father facing him. Ebony eyes locked on the older's face with no emotion. 

"Yes father?" Sasuke asked, wishing he would just walk away. 

Fugaku narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips, his face filled with scrutiny. 

"Have you finished your work?" The older asked. 

"I'll be getting to it now father." Sasuke said back emotionlessly, knowing very well what his father would say. It has become a routine really of being constantly criticised and compared to his elder brother. The pale boy has just learnt to ignore it after enduring it for years. 

Fugaku just scoffed. "Your brother always got his work done. I don't want a slacker as a child." With that, he turned away. Sasuke just glared and turned away towards his room, closing the door behind him. Grabbing his books, he began to finish the days work, trying to push away the thoughts of his overbearing father and his ignorant mother. 

'I'm not Itachi! When will he realise that? I hate how fucking controlling he is!' Sasuke fumed. He closed his eyes, trying to calm his thoughts before going back to concentrate on his work. 

Time skip

The sound of closing books echoed through his room as Sasuke arched his back, trying to remove the knots after hunching for a long time. Checking his phone, he looked at the time. 

7.00 pm

"Guess I have some time to play Perfect World." Sasuke said to himself. Quickly sending Neji and Shikamaru a message, he slumped onto his desktop chair. Logging into his account, he heard his message notifications. 

Shikamaru: Neji's busy so it's just us. Dungeon or main quest? 

Sasuke: Dungeon. Need to grind some resources. Lets do the B5 dungeon. 

Shikamaru: Cool. 

In the game

Sasuke's avatar teleported to the main hub city of Perfect World, passing the other characters and denying their invitations to battle. While travelling to the Dungeon quest NPC, he got a team request notification from Vapour. Sasuke accepted the request

Vapour: Yo, found a level 60 assassin who wants to do the same mission. Killing the boss would be real easy now. 

Sharingan: Hell yeah. Invite him. 

Vapour: Okay. 

K9 joined the team. 

K9: What's up guys! Heard ya'll are going to do the B5 dungeon?

Vapour: Yeah. Anyone else you want to invite? 

K9: Well I got a friend who just started playing. Want to increase his levels fast. 

Sharingan: He might die if he gets in the way. 

K9: Chill dude. He ent dumb. You guys okay with that? 

Vapour: Troublesome. Sure. 

Sharingan: Yeah okay. 

K9: K. Give me a sec. 

Kyubbi joined the team

Kyubbi: Hey guys! Thanks for the invite. I won't get in the way! I promise!

K9: Okay. Let's go now!

'Kyubbi huh? Intriguing.' Sasuke thought. Completely forgetting about reality, Sasuke indulged into the virtual realm of Perfect World, forgetting about his problems, his parents. Gaming was were he turned to when times got tough or when his father was more overbearing than usual. This was where he turned to, to get away from reality and he loved it.
