Liam's POV
I could not stand a second longer of this evening, I knew where the crystal was. The painting clearly showed the crystal of Heaven. I had to find it. I felt that I would come out of my skin at any moment. I was so close, if we found this crystal I was a step closer to my freedom. To be tied up with Moira was a kind of torture I wanted to get rid of as quickly as possible. I wanted to live my own life. I stood from the wall i had occupied the whole evening - Moira was laughing, in her hand a lovely red rose. A smile had blossomed on Riry's lips this evening, and Nicholas Chrysner had a great credit for that. I shoved my glass. I wanted to be free from being with my best friend constantly. It was time to get rid of this burden. With quick strides I flew through the door, clouds covering the sky. It would rain in a few seconds. I welcomed the rain. I wanted to wash away all feelings that kept i tried to keep in check , and most of all I wanted to cool my anger. I needed to fight tonight I just needed to fight. I headed for the Danube and walked. Within minutes, a drop of warm rain dripped from the sky. My heart was tight and I had a lump in my throat. I wanted a way to vent my feelings. Girls and battles were no longer enough. I searched for a quiet pier for my stormy soul. The waters of the Danube were black as tar. The clouds covered the sky, and no light reached the ground. The evening was gloomy, and I knew that foreshadowed a good fight. I continued on my walk on the river bank. On one side there was a small, dilapidated house. There was no sound, only the rain rumbled quietly on the ground. Behind the house there was a twigs snapping. I pulled out the Eagle's blade chain and tugged it around my arm. With slow footsteps I crossed the distance to the house. In the back was a young girl holding her hands with long nails and eyes in the most amazing purple color.
"Tonight, my luck is incredible. What a beautiful gentleman. "her eyes twinkled with hunger.
"Your lucky run out tonight, witch."
" I don't think so." - a fire lit up around me. Oxygen began to suck out of the circle. Cruelty was engraved in the face of the beautiful witch. The city legend was incredibly strong. From under my feet the ground split and three pairs of bony hands clasped my legs. I felt I was beginning to suffocate. "Soon you will be like my victims, a puppet in my hands."
I concentrated and put all my power into the eagle claws. They passed straight through the witch's belly. "I told you that tonight your luck is over. The chain wrapped around her neck, and the blade ends ended up in her face. A piercing scream unleashed from the witch's lips. The fire vanished. Under my feet slowly the skeletons and corpses of her sacrifices began to crawl out. The witch was casting a spell. I pulled my chain and it slowly began to tighten around her neck. Something with incredible force fell on my shoulder and almost dropped my spit. One of the living dead had managed to free himself completely from the mud, and now the witch was trying to kill me. I forced more magic into the blades and stuck them further in her face while relentlessly tightening the loop around her neck. I had to finish with this quickly. I could not move, two bony hands were still holding me nailed to the ground. I took out the thin knife I held in my coat with my free hand and pushed it out of the zombie coming to me. The knife flashed and stuck in one of his eyes, but it only stopped him. That was all I needed to pull the chain with all the force, the Witch's head thumped with a dull sound on the ground. After a second the witch de-materialized and the puppets became a heap of bones and flesh. I was all soaked, and my chests were full of smoke from the magic fire. I lay down on the grass beside the river. After a day the witch would be in the same place, someone would mention it, the children would tell some terrible story, and all I'd done tonight would not make any difference. We had to find the crystals, both for mankind and for our own sake. I could not bear to be constantly with Moira I needed my life away from her. My anger had gone away, and despair took place in his place. I struggled upright, feeling exhausted and crushed. I walked home, dreaming about bed and good night sleep.
