Chapter 23 Moira

I did not even wait for an answer I just swiped around the hall like a hurricane. I sat down on one of the benches and began to set my mind in ease and my thoughts in order. It was useless, even if I pushed my head against the wall repeatedly, It would not change anything. I made a decision to concentrate on finding the crystals and i should stick with it. I had to see the crown, so i got up and numbly headed for the corridors. They held her in one of the halls, and in the future they had moved her to parliament. I headed for the hall, and just as I thought, on a red pillow behind a thick glass, the Hungarian crown sat. I slowly approached it and held my breath as I passed to the other side of the hall. A simple blue stone was now sitting in place of the Crystal of Heaven. The disappointment overwhelmed me instantly and i felt like i was punched in the gut. Must be my lucky day. I went back to the same corridors and took three glasses of champagne from one of the servants. I swallowed the first two moments later. So far, all our search was pointless. Generations from our two lean-ages have not been able to find the crystals, how would we, and yet we could not just give up i exhaled loudly. The oracles' visions never showed the exact moment, but on the contrary they seemed to be part of an god awful puzzle, each vision showing something but never the crystal, or it was like ,the purpose wasn't finding the crystals in the past but to find out more about them and find them in our present. This all was part of the perverse playground heaven and hell had going on. Tonight I was not set for philosophical thoughts i clenched my teeth i should stop moping around and being lost in my cesspool of a mind. The room was buzzing with conversations and people. I glanced at the huge panoramic windows. The night outside was calm and quiet. It took me a few seconds to realize what was odd in the picture and have a double take. None of the people in the hall was in reality reflecting in the windows. It was not an ordinary ball, but one of the famous vampire balls, the panic caught me in seconds, but I quickly quelled it, I was a professional I could not panic. My eyes went through the crowd, there were people here, but they would not live to see the first rays of the sun. The real ball is yet to come. Liam! I had to find him and quickly. Once again, we were in a mess, from which we may not get out alive. I moved slowly, I didn't want to get any unwanted attention. Liam sat at one end of the hall and skillfully flirted with , yes you guest it, a vampire. How could she look so good,she didn't even reflect in the mirror i rolled my eyes and slapped a hand to my forehead. Moira think is not the moment to be jealous i chide myself. I was just hopeless.

"Liam, can we talk?" i hissed.

"Yes, but I do not think i have time for you right now, and I and my girlfriend just thought we'd find some more.... privet place." his face was harsh and his eyes cold as his fucking corpse would be when i finished with his ass.

"Your dick can wait 5 minutes!-I did not think I was annoyed anymore.NO that ship has sailed, sank and now was getting coral rift, i was short to murderously wrathful.

" All right." - Liam got up and came with me. "Now what?"  he crossed his arms in front of him. UUUU i have got him in defensive position, nice! I mentally patted myself on the back. 

"No you haven't" he uncrossed his arms and started trowing daggers with his eyes. Ups i have spoken this aloud, again.

"it's time to get out of here."

"I haven't found the crown yet." he began to protest.

"Unless you want to get us out of here in a coffin, we are going now."  for my own comfort, I grasped my hand on which the chain with my star was attached.

"What are you talking about? " Liam looked at me like i was crazy.

"Look at the windows." i was a smart ass  i know. Anyone could miss this, but we weren't anyone.

"Look at them, why?" in a moment it clicked." Quickly to the entrance" he told me.

"Won't you take your little girlfriend with us?" - I said snarky.

"Do not act smart and go go." he nudged me thru the crowed.

No one met us in the corridor, but at the entrance sat dozens of giant vampires. Like how they kept these pounds on their liquid diet. Does anyone other wonder that when they read vampire novels. Every vampire is like buffed and muscles and here i am thinking what you don't get bloated from liquids but gets to be Terminator instead. This is so not fair.

"And now what. You were wrong no to look things up. Because of you someone would use my pinky bone for a toothpick.

" We haven' check the crystal yet..."

"I've already checked it, at least I am doing my job. It's probably gone for decades now. We'll learn more a little later, for example when we survive and not about to be chew toys."

" Can we stop fighting at least for a second." Liam sounded endlessly tired and dijected.

"I'll stop, and now what, if we start a fight all the enemies will swarm us like bees on honey. For ten, our chances are very good, but for more ... "The sentence remained unconverted, and the two of us knew what I meant.

"We'll get out of some window."

We went to one of the smaller side rooms and Liam went out the window. i was about to go after him when he turned to me and his gaze changed.I knew instantly what that ment I swirled and saw a young man, elegantly dressed and incredibly handsome to enter the hall.

"What did I find? Dinner is trying to escape. Not so fast. "He could not see Liam who was outside and thought i was some stupid girl trying to get out of the party.

"Hello to you too. "I said while running my hand on my bracelet i had the advantage in the vampire's head i was easy pray. I had to finish this quickly.
