S406: Devistation
The team stood around looking at one another as where they were was revealed. When taking the assignment, they thought it was just a standard facility. No, it was Paz's headquarters. Tez rose and took out his comlink. He took the small silver rectangle and hit the blue button on the side. "Alyss we need to talk." He whispered into the mic. His transmission echoed in the hall as she walked through the castle not far from. She reached into her pocket and pulled it out. The large gold and white empty interior made an echo. She wanted to keep quiet. She answered the comlink, cupping her hand around it.
"Yes?" She asked in a calm-curious hybrid tone. Static slowly came over. Tez was answering.
"This facility is Paz's HQ." Tez told her. Her eyes widened and she gasped. Her team was in severe danger. She spun on her heel angry and scared looking around. Too much was in her head, now this? A mere investigation operation could turn into a massive extract. Her team knew too much. They ran too many missions and had so much intel that if leaked the Republic was done.
"Pull back as fast as possible. We know what's out there...now go!" She ordered to Tez in the comlink.
"We'll make it quick." Tez replied killing the call. As he put the communicator away he looked at his team. The group looked at him concerned. Kyle, Kernin, Arenia, and J3.
"What's the plan?" Kernin asked.
"Evac." Tez replied.
"Shouldn't we investigate just a tad more?" Kernin asked in a semi demanding tone. Tez shook his head.
"No, it's too much of a risk." He assuringly said. "There's more men here then we have power packs for our blasters." He said. J3 looked at Tez.
"We lack seventy three and a half power packs to kill every organic in this base. Not taking into account if one organic were to survive the first shot. Every shot would need to be a headshot or else the risk remains of failure. That doesn't take into the variable of switching your blaster for an imperial rifle from a fallen imperial organic." J3 said in his robotic lifeless voice, explaining the precise factors of the basis of the team's situation. Everyone looked at one another then at the droid confused. Kernin sighed.
"Yeah let's just fall back..." the man agreed holding his TL-51 rifle, aiming at the door. The group nodded and began moving. The group snuck through the first few empty halls, watching for cameras and imperial personal.
"Kernin do you have a signal disrupter?" Kyle asked.
"Yes." Kernin replied.
"No, it'll shut off J3." Tez intervened as the group went forward. The clean, empty bright halls soon made a loud echo. It was the intercoms.
"Attention all troops. The General and his associates are landing. Battalion nine prepare to greet him." The intercom said. The sharp imperial accent shot from wall to wall. Troop movement was heard.
"Associates?" Kernin asked.
"The Vong. Reiko." Kyle said.
"Possibly Jace too..." Arenia sighed looking down. The team realized who may come.
"We should attempt to save him..." Tez said gently, carefully.
"I thought you were by the rules bud!" Kernin laughed.
"It may be our only chance..." Arenia sighed.
"Jedi senses talking?" Kernin asked as footsteps grew loud. Two storm troopers came down the hall talking about T-17s. The two stopped at the sight of the group and took aim.
