S410: The Fleet Has Arrived

The Imperial fleet emerged from hyperspace in a formation leaving a large opening in the middle of their numbers. Straze knew this was intentional. She watched as their flagship arrived. The large brown Vong ship. The officers in the Republic flagship all looked out at it. Gasps and whispers spread as TIE Fighters charged at the fleet. The horrific roaring noises blew by them as X-Wings and A-Wings came from under the bridge to engage the imperial fighters. A red button on the center console beeped. Straze pressed it, it was Kass. "This is Yellow Leader. All groups standing by. Keep it steady and lets blow these bastards from the stars and send them to hell. The Galaxy is on our shoulders." The com cut out as Straze saw the two armies clash. She heard various screams. The star fighter coms were filled with chatter and screams. Blasts started raining toward the Republic fleet from the Imperial's. Straze watched as ships began to retaliate. She looked to her crew.

"Return fire." She ordered as blasts bounced off the shields of the super star destroyer. The cannons turned from neutral to aiming and began. Green blasts blew toward the fleet. A crossfire began. Blasts hitting one another exploding. The rebuilt ships Straze designed were assaulting the smaller crafts.  She hit a button on the console and it turned red. "Yellow Leader?" She asked.

"Right here! Wow that guy was good." Kass said over the com.

"When will the bombers attack?" Straze asked.

"Once their flag's shields fall madam!" Kass shouted as lasers blared by the command ship. Straze watched the Vong ship. Nark's old flagship came to mind. A powerful beast surrounded by the most feared weapons. She backed away from the window and stood in the middle of the bridge. Meanwhile Kass was deep into the action. Taking out TIE Fighters and other imperial star fighters. He saw a Y-Wing and TIE interceptor collide blowing up. From the fires was a horde of invasion crafts. Kass flicked his com channels to the base. "Ground command do you read? Assault crafts are landing." Kass said in the com as he turned his ship toward them. "I'll move to intercept!" He added changing channels to the fleet and star fighters. The assault crafts were in front of him. Troop carriers and walker carriers. "Yellow two, yellow five follow me. We need to take out those carriers!" Kass shouted. "Yellow four, yellow six cover us. Everyone else maintain current orders." The pilot added. The five ships grouped up and blew toward the carriers. A series of proton torpedoes raced forward hitting into the carriers. Several broke apart and rerouted into fires. Walkers fell off and sunk. The three ships did damage to the very large invasion force, but they were still a threat. The small inferior guns on the carriers couldn't land hits on the small fighters. Victory was in sight when a blast took out yellow five. Kass and the remaining four ships pulled away, two TIE interceptors got behind the group and another x-wing was lost. "Break up and reengage!" Kass shouted maneuvering his X-Wing away.

Paz's HQ: Main Firing Station

Across the stars, Alyss, Jace, Nark, Ithar and Nark's guards were making a landing in the mountains. The group walked out of the ship onto the orange dirt and saw the large gun towering over them from across the open field. The base seemed somewhat empty from outside. Most of the armies Paz had were fighting at the Republic base on Ac'Gio where Tez and the others were mounting a final stand on the ground. The group ran toward the base carrying A280c blasters. They got to the gates and held. Alyss looked at the group. "I don't like this." She said to them. Nark turned and looked at her.

"Makes this crap a lot easier." Nark said getting up. He aimed his rifle at the tower, looking into the scope. He fired a shot a thump was heard. Alyss gasped.

"This is a stealth mission!" She shouted. Nark lowered his blaster and looked at her.

"Listen lady...I've killed just about every type of gun wielding maniac under the sun." Nark said. "Paz is no different than others." He added. "I knew him before he was a guy looking like Darth Vader and Darth Malgus had a kid." Nark added. Everyone looked at him. Ithar leaned to Jace's ear.
