Maddison heading to the Commonwealth tour means a couple of things
First,the Queen is trusting my daughter enough to go on the tour; which means,my baby girl is growing up and getting more mature.Second,it means I will know where she will be at any time.As a mother,that is great.Finally,it means she might not be here when her baby brother arrives in this world.
The doctor says the baby might come any time now.The preview is still for early December,but the doctor told us to go to the hospital if I felt anything.I have done all of this pregnancy thing before.Maddison's pregnancy was easy,relatively saying.I felt nothing bad during the entire nine months.Now,with the little one,I am feeling more anxious.
'Mom,if anything happens,you call me and I will come back.' Maddison says for the hundredth time.Her first stop of the tour is South Africa.To get there in time to have dinner with the local governor,she will be leaving London at 6AM.
'Do not worry about me,honey.' I say giving her another tight hug.Three weeks is a long time.A very long time.
'Do not forget to send us postcards,uh?' Harry says to our daughter giving her a hug.
'I have that noted on my agenda,dad.' Maddison guarantees her father.Harry,between us,is the one most concerned about this trip.Maybe because it's the first time Maddison is doing this on her own.My husband is actually quite terrified about something bad happening to Maddison.
'Anything you need,you give me a call.' Harry says before placing a kiss in Maddison's cheek.
'Noted...But,now,I have to go.' Maddison says smiling at us.She gives us both another hug and kiss before heading out of the door.
We observe through the window Keith and Jasper talking.Keith is headed to Scotland for Helen's,his grandmother,birthday.Plus,now that he is the Earl,he has much to deal with in Edinburgh.Besides me and Harry,I would say Keith is the one who will miss Maddison the most.Their relationship is so beautiful to watch.
We observe as our daughter hugs Keith tightly and gives him a kiss before getting inside the car with Jasper.Keith gets inside the car behind and follows them out.It is raining in London as usual in this time of the year.It is early so I head back to my bedroom to try getting some sleep.
Trying to sleep nowadays is all I do.It is a task which I am not very sucessful.The baby keeps kicking.This baby boy is all anxious to be out in the world.He won't let me sleep.Harry's voice normally calms the baby down,but I don't find it in me to wake up my husband in the middle of the night just to keep me company.Harry will have to be up the entire night once the baby is born.
Since we woke up early because of Maddison,Harry and I just laid down in bed talking.The baby seemed to be calm so I could actually relax just a little bit.The topic of the moment was baby names.We had decided before if the baby was a girl we would name her Carolyn.But,our baby is a boy so we both stand clueless on what to name him.
