🌹Dan's POV🌹
My eyes slowly flutter open to be greeted with the blinding morning light.
I groan and stretch, yawning in the process. I reach over to the nightstand to grab my phone, but instead my hand collides with something bushy like.
I look over to see what it is, and find my flower crown that I left in the flower shop with a note right by it.
My face lights up and I grab the note, sitting up at the same time.
Dear Dan,
I went back to the flower shop last night and retrieved your flower crown out of the bin.
Before you ask, no, I did not ride my motorcycle in the rain. I drove my car.
I was going to give it to you myself in the morning, but then I heard you last night and I was going to give it to you once you calmed down, but you fell asleep to quickly. So I just wrote this note.
I hope you're feeling a bit better today.
-Phil
I smile at the note. Phil is really nice.
I grab my phone and check the time. 8:03! It's Monday! Why didn't Phil set an alarm and wake me up?!
I get up and walk to Phil's room. I knock on the door quietly, just in case he's still asleep. "Yes?" He asks, sounding wide awake.
"Phil, why didn't you get me up for school?" I ask. He sighs, "You had a long day yesterday, I figured it was best that you skipped school today. Your mum called the school this morning to tell them you won't be attending, my mum did the same for me." He explains.
"How do you know my mum did that?" I ask. "She gave me her number yesterday when we were at your house."
"Oh."
"Yeah, you want breakfast?"
"Sure." I shrug casually. "To the kitchen we go!" Phil jokes, getting up and pointing down the stairs, which are right outside his room door, luckily. "Oh, and, race you!" He yells, running down the stairs.
I laugh at his childness. I run after him, hoping to get there before him, but he's much bigger than me. I'm only 5'1, Phil's around 6'4! How?!
I'm small for my age, Phil's tall for his age, what the frick?!
I make it to the kitchen a little bit after Phil. I lean on the counter. I was trying a little to hard to get here first and now I'm tired.
"Not fair! You're taller, which makes your legs longer, which makes you faster!" I pout playful, sticking my bottom lip out and crossing my arms over my chest.
He chuckles at my behavior and walks over to me. "Stop pouting. I won far and square." He says ruffling my hair.
"How old are you anyway, and why are you so tall?" I whine, looking up at him. "Maybe I'm not tall and you're just short. Ever think about that? And I'm 18." He answers.
"I'm 17. How tall are you?" I ask yet another question. "6'5. How about you? You seem a little short to be 17." He says smirking. "Shut up. I'm 5'1." I say, playfully nudging him. "You are really short! The average 17 year old boy is about 5'7." He says.
"Being short sucks..." I mumble to myself, looking down at my shoes. "Hey, tell me why you think being small sucks?" He asks, crouching down to my level and tilting my head up with his finger.
