The fact that in western developped societies, a large amount of choice is commonly associated with wellfare and freedom, but too much choice causes the feeling of less happiness, less satisfaction, and can even lead to paralysis.
The more choice one has, the better the chance of having the best outcome, but the less happy the individual making the choice.
With excessive choice, decisions become less likely and paralyses the ability to make to make a decision, possibly leading to choosing the easy option (default) or not making the decision at all.
One may also be less satisfied with their choice and unsure that they made the right decision.
