This chapter is dedicated to Anonymous_K6713! They left me the sweetest comment I have ever gotten and it even made me teary! Thank you again! I hope you enjoy it!

Okay, so this part is coming mainly from the book. So if you have read Chamber of Secrets resently, you will catch that. I added a bit of my own stuff to it, so hopefully it is not boring due to it being out of the book.

I do not own any of the Harry Potter world.  --- thought I would be that our there for copywrite reasons.

I hope you enjoy:

Chapter 22:

~Esca~

I had no story figured out to tell the professors as a lie when I opened the door to the Staff Room. Right now, my mind was elsewhere, concerned with Echo.

When I found that the room was empty, I was shocked.

The shock was almost enough that I did not notice the movement out of the corner of my eye. The door to a closet shut. I quickly moved over there in response and closed my eyes before opening them to the eyes of a Reader.

On the other side of the door, I recognized the familiar auras of Harry and Ron.

Without hesitating, I blinked back into normal sight before opening the door, jumping into the closet, and closing the door quickly. I was met by two pairs of wide eyes. They almost said something, but I placed my hands over their mouths to stop them and shook my head. Good thing too, because right after I did that voices flooded the room on the other side of the door.

“It has happened,” Professor McGonagall’s voice filled the otherwise silence. “A student has been taken by the monster. Right into the Chamber itself.”

I my breath caught in my voice. A student? Who? Echo? No she was safe in the Hospital Wing, but someone was taken and they were probably dead.

“How can you be sure?” Professor Snape’s voice said with doubt.

                I rolled my eyes.

“The Heir of Slytherin,” Professor McGonagall said, “left another message. Right underneath the first one. ‘Her skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever.’”

Harry, Ron, and I exchanged worried glances.

“Who is it? Which student?” Madam Hooch asked.

                “Ginny Weasley,” said Professor McGonagall.

My eyes turned to Ron. He slide to the floor and put his head into his knees. His sister, the girl that I had more than once rolled my eyes at, was most likely dead. Ginny.

“We shall have to send all the students home tomorrow,” Professor McGonagall went on. “This is the end of Hogwarts. Dumbledore always said…”

She was cut off by the Staff Room door banging open. This caused both Harry and I to jump. Looking over at him, I saw hope fill his eyes, but that was soon crushed by the voice that filled the room.

“So sorry. Dozed off. What have I missed?”

Lockhart. That git. There was a reason why I always skipped out on his dueling lessons, even after hearing about the excitement with Harry and the snake. One, Snape. Two, him. His aura was nothing but lies and weakness. I could read the deepest layers with no effort showing his lack of strength.
