Chapter 6:
Next the four of us went to Flourish and Bolts to get our books. Kyle was happy to see his best friend and not so happy to see his sister, but he gave her a hug. After the reunion the four of us decided we needed to actually get some shopping done. The store happened to be where the Grangers, Weasleys, and Harry were. Also, Lockhart. There were a ton of people there and the pulse of attraction for the man made my stomach sick. The aura of someone in love was a pleasant feeling, but the aura of someone just attracted to an idol was not so pleasant. It felt so fake compared that of love and true emotions.
“Hi Echo,” George said from behind me. I had felt his aura come up, but knew that he liked to try to surprise me. I could feel Fred next to him. He was confused.
I turned around. “My boys,” I said happily. “How are you Fred?”
He gave me an uneasy smile. I could feel the betrayal in his aura.
I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around him. “Fred, I trust you and you are my best friend, and I will explain everything to you.”
He hugged me back. “I know,” he whispered in my ear, “but I wish you would have told me. You haven’t even told George about the box hidden in the woods.”
A smile formed on my face. “No, that is our thing.”
I pulled away and punched his shoulder softly. “Now come on Weasley, give me a smile.”
Before the smile formed there was an interruption.
“Bet you loved that Potter!”
We all turned to see Draco Malfoy in Harry’s face. As a naturally reaction Fred, George, Kyle, Esca, Elissa, and I headed over to were Harry stood. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Hermione, Ron, and Ginny with the same idea. We were beat to it though.
“Now, now Draco.”
With one glance I knew the man who pulled Draco from Harry was Draco’s father. With his matching blood hair and same malevolence looking face it was clear, but on top of that I sensed a connection between the two’s auras. It was a very complex one that I did not quite understand, but I could feel the father and son connection.
“Ah,” he looked around at the rest of us coming up. “Hand me down ropes, tattered books, you must be the Weasley’s.”
“Hello Malfoy,” Mr. Weasley’s voice came from behind.
“Arthur.”
The two looked at each other with hatred. I had never seen such fire in Mr. Weasley’s eyes. His aura sparked with dislike and protection. He wanted us away from Mr. Malfoy.
Mr. Malfoy’s eyes moved from Hermione. “Ah, yes Draco has told me all about you and your parents.” I watched his Mr. Malfoy’s eyes moved to Hermione’s parents. “Muggles and I thought your family could sink no lower.”
“What do you know about muggles?” I asked stepping forward. “You know nothing.”
Mr. Malfoy’s eyes fell on me and narrowed. “Ah, another muggle-born.” I could feel the hatred he had for me and my kind. I was a disease to him that needed to be taken care of. To him I should be destroyed or made a slave. I felt the pure distain he had for me. It was as if he was taking my own emotions and crushing them.
