The sound of busy chattering reached my ears as I reached the bottom step. I caught snip bits of my name and "new brother". A tall brown haired girl sat, her back facing me, her long hair was pulled into a tight pony tail, which matched the rest of her clothing. A tight shirt which didn't pass her belly button, and a pair of tight white shorts that came right under her belly button. Long socks hugged her legs and leather boots sat next to her stool. A blonde haired girl stood next to her, her hair was in loose curls and she only wore a pair of tight fitting jeans and shirt. Mrs. Stellard cleared her throat once she saw me, causing only the blonde to turn.
"Hi, Elis!" she exclaimed, extending a tan hand, "I'm Shannon." her white teeth were set straight, and her blue eyes were framed by long lashes, done with mascara. I replied with a nod.
The other daughter was still eating her cereal, but she did turn. Like her sister her teeth were set straight, and her hazel eyes were framed with lashes done with mascara, unlike her sister wings extended off of the corner of her eyes, which struck me as rather odd, and her cheekbones stuck out more than Shannon's, who had a softer complexion. Once she swallowed the food, she stuck out her hand, the nails extended out into sharp points and painted a dark black. "I'm Emily, nice to meet you brother." I gave a nod.
"Girls, it's six thirty, five more minutes and you'll be late," Mrs. Stellard warned as Emily finished. I stuck my hands in my pockets, glancing at the clock. "Emily, is John driving you today?"
Emily rolled her eyes, "Of course, there's no room for Shannon though."
Shannon shrugged, "Kayla's already taking me, and we're going to the mall afterwards."
"Be back before 10, and you'd better have finished your homework by then," Mrs. Stellard turned to Emily who had put on her boots and was slipping a large backpack over her shoulder. "No funny business and I'd better not get a call that you're fifteen minutes late again."
"His car broke down," Emily stated curtly, before leaving the kitchen as a car honked.
Shannon snickered, "What a lie, half the school saw them making out in the car." she grinned at me, "I'm totally making you meet my friends this weekend. Don't worry, they're not like Emily's friends, total snobs."
Mrs. Stellard rushed her out as soon as the clock's big hand reached 15.
"They're much better when they don't have to rush to school," Mrs. Stellard sighed again, "Well, I'd suggest you get changed into some more comfortable clothing, I might as well take you down to the lodge first."
I went back upstairs and turned left into my room, switching my khakis for sweatpants and polo for t-shirt. Downstairs Mrs. Stellard stood, keys in one hand, she was still wearing her stiff clothing. As if reading my thoughts, she explained, "My office is in the lodge. It's not only activities, though I'll be showing you around in that area of the building."
