I woke up with a splitting head ache, dry mouth, and a warm sensation in my stomach. However my first thought was where the hell am I, the room I was in smelled like roses and the comforter below me was a lot softer than the one that the Stellards provided me with.
"Finally you're awake."
I leapt out of the bed and landed on my back, sitting on the bed sporting a scowl and bags under her eyes was Shannon. "You slept like a baby, or maybe a rock, whatever. I'm hungry and I want to go to Cheese N' Burgers."
"What?"
Shannon yawned, stretching out on her bed, "I want food and I want you to drive me because I feel like shit."
I let out a nervous chuckle, the feeling in my stomach was getting hotter and I didn't like it at all. "You drive yourself, I'm not going." before sprinting into my room and vomiting into the toilet bowl. I sat on the cold tile floor for a minute or two, taking in the situation before I registered what just happened and flushed the toilet, a little dazed. I have never been sick before, in my life I have never once gotten a fever or a tiny little cold. Why out of no where did I suddenly vomit? And was that blood? I made my way to the sink when my reflection caught me off guard, my eyes were a deep shade of amber and my lips looked like a whole bee hive just made out with me. My muscles tensed once I made eye contact with myself in the mirror, my legs automatically spread into a stance and my arms were ready to strike out, I stood like this until the creak of footsteps outside my door disturbed me from my sudden trance. What was going on?
"I'm walking to Cheese N' Burgers, if I get mugged don't bother," came Shannon's irritated voice.
"Okay," I answered still shaken, I need to pull myself together. I walked back to my bed and sat on it, when I snap, my eyes turn red, not amber, and vomiting blood, since when? Is the incident going to happen all over again, is the history going to repeat, but me as a different monster? I shuddered, I don't want to be put back in the hospital again, where every single day drugs flowed in and out of me as if it were my own blood. I shook my head, no, the history was not going to repeat, I am not an innocent five year old anymore. This time I'm going to find out everything, everything my parents knew, and didn't, I'm going to find answers.

"Elis?" a familiar round face topped with wire rimmed glasses greeted me at the lobby of the lodge. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm looking for Ms. Stellard, do you know where she is?" I racked my brain, trying to remember why exactly did I go to the lodge for answers out of all the other places I could've gone.
"Oh," Sarah paused, uncertain, "She's busy right now, in a meeting. Do you need anything, any kind of help?"
"No, it's fine," this time I was uncertain, "Do you happen to know where Juliet and Jesse live?"
This caught Sarah off guard, her cheeks flushed as she pushed her glasses further up her nose. "E-excuse me?"
"Do you know where Jesse and Juliet live?"
"They-they live right up the mountain, above the lodge, that's where the rest of the road leads...why?" Sarah gave me a questioning look, but didn't seem to want to know the answer.
"Some questions about deer, you know," I shrugged, before leaving into the cold morning air.

The road began to turn steep and narrow as it turned away from the lodge, no longer paved, cracks stretched from one end to another, almost threatening to break apart from each other. Weeds sprung between the splits, giving the look of abandonment, I seriously began to doubt Sarah's information, however right as I was about to turn around, a flash of white caught my eye. I pushed the truck further just a little bit, and nearly ran off the road, my heartbeat rose as I stared at the house before me. I've seen it before...where? Flashes and bits flew in my mind, but I couldn't grasp a full memory, only bits of forests and pathways, and then the house? But where? I shook my head in an attempt to clear it, I was here for Juliet and Jesse, not their house.
The doorbell chimed three times before it was slowly opened, "You should leave now."
I stepped back, "Um, excuse me?"
The person behind the door hesitated, before taking a tentative step outside, one half of their body still in the door. Juliet's eyes were bloodshot and her white blond hair was pulled up in a tight ponytail. "Now's not a good time to come, Elis."
I nudged my foot into the door just as she was about to close it, "I need information, just for a little bit, please."
Juliet shook her head, the ponytail swung violently. "No, do not come back."
"I need answers, I need information! Stop fighting me and just tell me, why can't you?"
"Because I'm here," black eyes met mine from within the house, a thick red substance leaked from them as they stared.
