Its August and sunny and boring for everyone else in Lagos but not for Ada. She had just recently gotten admission to Yaba College of Technology to study art and my, what a glorious feeling it gave her.

Ada was currently working in a school as secretary before gaining admission to YabaTech(as it was fondly called). Her parents wanted her to get busy and not sit idle at home wasting her art talents. And her brothers thought it would be a good way to get her out of the house and her boring job.

She had quickly made friends with a chubby, short and cute dark haired girl named Bella and a tall and buffy guy named Wisdom. They were sitting in the same class on the last floor of the art building staring at the lecturer as he gave his rambling talks again.

So far its been assignment upon assignments as YabaTech was well known for. It was breaking them all and since they had to do it, they had no choice. Apparently Wisdom, the ever clever guy, tried to listen more than them.

Frustrated and bored, Ada turned her gaze to the left side and saw Femi, gorgeously looking in his slim fit and tailored outfit. He was perfect and never out of place. She felt really drawn to him. It was hard to find boys like him who were exceptionally polite and kind like him. Especially in her class. Majority of them were all razz and looking for a girl to toast and she just didn’t like their attitude.

He turned to the guy sitting next to him and started talking to him, Who turned out to be Salim. He was well known for being really black and hilarious. He had a booming voice which he accentuated when he felt like or when he just wanted to make people laugh. He was also a troublemaker and Ada found herself smiling when she thought of his antics.

Bella nudged her with her elbow which made Ada to scowl in pain. Bella’s nudges and pokes were really painful.

“Did you hear what the lecturer said? He said we were going to have a test next week. I mean Next week! What has he taught us that he wants to test us on for God’s sake ehn?” Bella raved and waved her hands in frustration mimicking a cry.

Ada laughed. Bella had always been a DramaQueen. But the issue of the test was not a small one at all.

“I don’t know o.” she replied, “all these lecturers sef. He has been saying that he will kill the thing. He will kill the thing. I don’t know what he wants to kill now.”

“is it your kill?”, Wisdom suddenly asked. He was becoming his annoying self again which made both Ada and Bella to hiss and turn away from him. Bella picked her bag and dragged Ada’s hand, “Abeg Ada lets go. Leave this Wisdom here to be saying whatever he likes.”

“is it your like? Is it your say ehn?”, Wisdom added, which made Bella really annoyed that she raised her hands to beat him.
He started to run away laughing while she pursued him with her fists shaking in the air. Ada shook her head. Wisdom could be really annoying when he wanted to and Bella was looking for someone to beat. Great Combo. She started to put her things together into her bag when a voice caught her attention.

It was Femi. He had a slight Yoruba accent that flowed with his English and he was talking to Salim, who was laughing loudly. He was repeating “Kill it Kill it” loudly to mimic their lecturer. Her heart melted a little. Nobody could deny that Femi was fine guy and had a good body figure. he was certainly the ideal man. Her heart leaped for joy when he called her name and came closer to say hi. She flashed him her brightest smile and responded.

Salim came closer and looked deeply In her eyes while smiling, “Ada my baby, how are you doing? Hope you are fine? Ehn! Omo Dada!”. As usual Ada brushed him off as joking because he started laughing his loud laugh afterwards. His own laughing included dancing too. Salim was a funny bone to be precise. Femi laughed with him too and soon afterwards other friends came to join their little pirade.

Jaquelyn, the overdo madam (as she was called by the class boys) sashayed to their group and began to pitch in her loud slightly 'oyinbo' accent. Ada never really liked her. She always wanted to overpower others and prove she was right.

All Ada could hear though was Femi's yoruba accent flowing through the conversation.
Bella returned from pursuing Wisdom and hooked her hands through Ada’s arms and said, “Oya na, lets go.”
Together they dragged themselves out of the class down the stairs with Wisdom hooting terrible jokes behind them.
