"Bella please don't go now na. Wait small and help me with this thing." Ada begged Bella who had informed her that she had to start going home as she couldn't stay late.
"I'm sorry Ada. I have to go now. You know how that road is. If I get there late, I may not get Keke to my house today. Don't worry. Ask Isaac or Femi to help you with your designs. I'm sure they will help you." Bella responded.
"What are you saying? You know that they are busy with their works na. they won't help me and I have to finish this before I go home." Ada tried to hold her back but Bella blew her kisses and packed her heavy bag and her board and ran out shouting sorry. Bella knew Ada won't be comfortable being in the same space with Femi. She had seen her reaction earlier. She wished she could stay and keep her company but she had to get home on time. She didn't have the patience to start walking up and down the road in search of Keke. Lord, I leave Ada in your hands. I hope she's safe in there. She prayed in her heart.
Ada walked back into the Studio to continue with her designs. She felt really alone now that Bella had gone. The air between her and Femi was tight and full of tension. She couldn't even meet his eyes. She prayed she would quickly get out of the studio. Thankfully, he had minded his own business and did not go near her. She was so grateful that she had space to breathe. The moment she felt her designs were okay, she wrapped them up and kept them in a space only she and Bella knew. Then she picked her bag and without another glance, fled out to the studio. Isaac shouted goodbye to her as she fled.
The days passed by eventfully, Bella keeping an eye on Femi and Ada. Looking for any irregularities and awkward poses. The two of them hid really well from the rest of the class. Even Bella had to admit that if Ada had not told her, she would not have known. Still, she felt a little resentment towards Femi. She didn't like him. But that was not her way of doing things. To her, she kept her enemies closer and so she kept being friendly to him. He must not know that I know what happened between him and Ada and even Salim sef.
It was easy to read Salim. It was no lie that he liked Ada but he had backed down a little. Which meant Ada had refused his advances. He too, could not know what happened between Ada and Femi. Since Femi was his close friend, it could cause a rift between the two and eventually cause a huge break in their circle. She really liked having Salim around. He was a nice person.
