RECAP:
I raised my eyebrow at him and refrained from speaking like he had ordered me.
"Sometimes I regret my decision for your muteness. Your period of silence won't last for much longer Cherie. I have plans that shall be set in motion soon enough," the King smiled at this.
A knock sounded from the door. That was fast- he must know that he is in trouble, I thought fighting back a smile at how cowardly he is.
"Oh and Cherie, don't think I didn't notice how you kept saying your majesty. We shall deal with that later, once our little talk with Watkins is over," the King said before yelling out calmly to enter.

Chapter 3:
I gave the King a sour look before masking my face of any emotions when the door opened.
"You sent for me, your highness?" Lord Watkins asked coming into the room before sitting down across from the King.
Bad manners, sitting before asked, I mused silently watching the small tick of the King's jaw and the bobbing of Lord Watkins throat.
"How are you fairing these days?"
"Very well your majesty"
"I'm sure you are... Now how about dropping the titles, eh? We are all friends in here, no?" The King smiled.
"Y...yes Leopold. We are," his eyes slid over to me, his gaze filled with sadness.
I was miffed, why would he look at me like that?
"Have you heard what has been going on in Raymond's court of late, Benoit?" the King asked him, watching him closely.
"Why yes I have. It's quiet horrid, the situation he has gotten himself into," Lord Watkins said- oddly in a smug voice.
"Yes, Raymond is in a sticky situation and is asking for an alliance from myself," the King told Lord Watkins.
I fought the urge to furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Treaty? What treaty? Normally I knew everything that was occurring within the kingdom.
"A treaty? What kind of treaty?" Lord Watkins asked, not hiding his confusion, and apparent..anger. I did not understand his anger but it seemed that the King sure did, judging by his somewhat pleased look.
"Raymond is seeking assurance towards my agreement to back him up. So after much deliberation I have come across the perfect solution," the King was full out grinning now. What ever he had planned obviously would not sit well with Watkins.
"If you would not mind me as to inquire what the solution you came upon is... What would it be?"
"Why a marriage of course!" the King beamed at him.
