Pete and Patrick were stood quietly in the front of the library. There were only a few customers, most of which were in the small seating area at the back.

Pete sent a small smile to a woman who walked in. She twirled her hair around her finger and batted her eyelashes but Pete just shrugged it off, turning back to Patrick and letting the woman walk further into the aggregation of books.

"Declan wants you to come to his school play." Pete blurted out, putting his coffee back down on the front desk.

"Woah, really?" Patrick looked up from his paperwork, making eye contact with Pete.

"Yea, he said it could be his way or repaying you for The Hobbit, he decided he could make you dinner as well." The whiskey eyed man chuckled, tearing his gaze from Patrick's.

"That's so sweet, but I wouldn't want to interrupt." Patrick smiled sadly, because truth be told he would love to be more involved in Declan's life, but it wasn't his place.

"Are you sure? He would want you to be there." Pete frowned, trying to regain eye contact with the small librarian.

"Yea, yeah, sorry. Tell him it was a lovely idea."
