I tried not to look at him, but I still did for an unknown reason and our eyes met, and I just forgot how to breathe for a second.

When our eyes met I kind of expected him to express some kind of emotion, but he didn't. The only thing I saw reflecting in his eerie eyes was boredom, he practically was the epitome of unamazement.

After I had my moment of being surprised I started to think rationally, like I usually do. First of all, what the bloody hell was this armor he was wearing? I don't think it is serving any kind of logical purpose unless he prefers to labeled as 'idiot', that is. On a similar note, it seemed pretty heavy, it must be difficult to walk around in such equipment. Secondly, how can he look so... I hate to say this but... perfect. He was practically perfect. Taller than most men, if he can carry this extra weight he must be muscular as well. His jawline is strong, his skin and hair color looked so divine in combination with his golden attire. The only thing I might want to change in him if I could were his piercing eyes but other than that I must recognize his perfection.

Something is wrong.

This is rather inhuman. Nobody is perfect, I'm sure there is something wrong with him. The more time I spent staring at him I realized something. His eyes were not just bored... he seemed lifeless. Not just being emotionless... no, not simple like that at all. It seemed like he lost the ability to feel anything at all.

I suddenly realized I'm overthinking, which is a bad habit of mine. I shrugged silently then continued observing him. Everybody in the pub was mesmerized by his presence but there was something else as well... fear. After one second everyone looked away and some people even started shaking. I was the only one who was constantly staring at him. Judging by his face he wasn't bothered by that, he just started walking towards Farid, who seemed terrified as well but he tried to hide it. Before turning to talk to him, this interesting guy looked at me, as if he was letting me know that he is aware of me staring. Then he turned to Farid and started to speak:

"Mongrel, I need two jugs of your finest wine." he said in a low but demanding voice. The way he said the word mongrel made me gasp. And how obedient Farid was! I wanted to laugh, this guy sure can make him behave just by being here.

"Yes, my King!" Farid responded, avoiding eye contact. He looked at me and started shouting.

"[Y/N], you useless woman! Don't just sit there, hurry and bring what the King asked right now!"

I sighed and got up but I wasn't hurrying as he said. I'm not his servant, and the king... WAIT, KING? I had no time to think about this, I disappeared behind a door then a few seconds later I was back with the wine. If the King wanted quality wine he shouldn't have came to a pub like this by the way.

"How much do I have to pay?" the King asked, I started to get used to his monotone voice.

Farid told him the price after hesitating for a second.

"What if I want the girl as well? " Gilgamesh suddenly asked with a puzzled look on his face.

"What girl? " Farid asked back but then he looked at me and he became dumbfounded. "Her? Well... She is not for sale."

A sword appeared in the King's hands and he looked at Farid.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we can make it work." he said with a strange grin which was absolutely horrifying.

"Ohh, no, I didn't mean it like that! Of course, take her, my King!" Farid said very kindly and started to think. "The only problem is that she has a loan and I can't let her go unless she pays me back..."

The wine and the sword disappeared by turning into golden dust and Gilgamesh threw a few pieces of gold for Farid.

"Of course she has, nobody would work in a place like this unless they are forced. That's what you deserve and be happy I didn't kill you." he turned away with an emotionless face and looked at me in the eye.

"Come!" he commanded but his voice wasn't harsh, although I still felt obligated to obey. He walked out the door and I followed him by waving goodbye to Farid with a vicious grin.
