THE TAPPING OF KEYS ON THE KEYBOARD ECHOED throughout the silent room. Long, slender fingers danced gracefully against the keys as ocean blue eyes stared at the four screens with furrowed browns, concentrating hard.
Watching his mate work, Tony felt oddly turned on as he checked her out. Seeing her look so beautiful while she worked was hot but for Bruce, seeing all the codes that ran on the screen was amazing.
He was in awe for he never saw these kinds of codes. They were top secret, classified but this girl, his mate, was able to crack all of them and break in without breaking a sweat.
"How are you doing this?" Bruce mumbled as he took off his glasses, hoping he wasn't dreaming. Alexis let out a soft laugh, one that rang throughout the living room. The other Avengers stared at the screen with a dumbfounded look.
"What exactly is 'this'?" Sam asked, finally coming back after his temper tantrum.
"She's hacking into unbreakable files, ones that the government tries to hide, even the secret organisations," Clint explained to his mate, the dark-skinned man nodding as his mind took in the words.
"How is she doing this?" Wanda asked as she stared at the blonde, awe written on her face.
"Lexie is one of the best hackers in the world," Natasha said as a small - tiny - proud grin spread on her face.
"Lexis is the best hacker in the world." Pietro boasted, and unlike Natasha, a huge proud grin spread across his lips as he watched his best friend use her mad skills.
"Thanks, guys." Alexis grinned, her eyes never leaving the screen. Tony slid onto the ground, his hands travelling to under Alexis's armpits, lifting her up. "Tony!" She screeched as her body left the ground. The said man chuckled, sliding into her spot and placing the girl back into his lap.
"Better?" He teased, wrapping his arms around his waist. Her back was pressed against his chest, his arms low but not low enough for her inner self that was screaming in her head.
'Shut up!' Alexis screamed in her head, ridding her mind of all the dirty thoughts that travelled around her brain.
"Alexis?" Called Bruce, noticing that the codes paused along with his mate. "Is something wrong?" Her mates voice snapped Alexis out of her inner war with her other self.
"No." She nodded, shaking her mind of all her thoughts. "I'm good." Alexis stared at the screen, fingers tapping at the keys and eyebrows furrowed. Everyone watched quietly, silence hanging in the air. "Aha!" Alexis exclaimed, clicking the 'enter' button on her laptop.
"Have you gotten the location?" Asked Steve, eyes lit up as the thought of finally getting rid of Hydra once and for all made him grow excited.
"You mean the base?" Steve nodded, confusion filling his face.
"Yeah."
"Oh! Did you need that? I found the location ages ago." She waved off, a cheeky grin on her face.
"So, what have you been doing for the past thirty minutes?!" Yelled Sam, arms waving around. Alexis shrugged.
"Well, I was just looking through Hydra's files and such." Everyone froze as the words came out of the blonde's mouth.
"What did you just say?" Asked Bucky, eyes wide. Alexis rose a brow at the Avengers shocked faces.
"I've hacked into their files." She repeated, simplifying it for them - breaking it down. "Why? Was I not supposed to?" Bruce and Tony shook their heads, the latter quickly unwrapping his arms from around his mate and promptly tapping on the keys of the laptop.
"Oh my god!" He mumbled as so many files appeared on the screen of both the laptop and tv. "Every single file is in here." Tony continued to roam through Hydra's database.
"Have you guys never gone through Hydra's database?" Natasha shook her head, slightly shocked. The blonde hacker let out a laugh; the voice of their mate was soothing and angelic.
"I do this for fun!" She exclaimed, her laughter increasing as they all sat there with their jaws open and eyes wide.
"For fun?" Wanda asked, eyes staring at Alexis in awe. "That's so cool!" She squealed, jumping in her spot. "Go girl power!" She raised her fists into the air, Natasha's and Alexis laughing at the cheerful young girl with so much power and so much kindness. Wanda was too pure for the cruel world, and that was one of the things that made Alexis feel protective over her and her twin brother.
They were brought up thinking that Hydra was excellent and their enemies were evil but Alexis couldn't blame them, they wanted revenge for something Tony did not do. Albeit, he did build the weapon.
