Elena's POV

I woke up, I was resting on a bed. How I got here, I have no idea. All I know is that I have to get out of here. Rushing out the door, I went down the stairs and opened the door. Being trapped in by a magic barrier. How?

Slamming against the invisible wall, I groaned loudly.  Turning back to the house, I looked around. "Hello?" I called out and there was silence. A door being unlocked from upstairs, I snapped my head up. Looking around and breaking a chair leg and walking up the stairs. Silently walking towards the door to spot Klaus on high alert.

I rolled my eyes, dropping the wooden stake down. "What am I doing here?" I asked, kicking the stake to the side and placing my hands behind my back. "How did I even get here?"

He smirked and ignored my questions. "Well, good morning to you too." he crossed his arms. Making me notice he was shirtless. Something felt off... I don't know what it is. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Recalling what happened last night, I walked up to him. Touching his shoulder and suddenly feeling some kind of... static. He looked at me, something clouding his eyes. I pulled my hand away and stared at him with shock.

What was that?

Touching his shoulder once again, quickly pulling away. He stared at me, a smile growing on his lips as I kept touching his shoulder and removing my hand. He chuckled causing me to look and stare at him.

"What's so funny?"

"You don't get it, do you?"

I tilted my head and he gestured to a seat that was placed in the hallway. I sat down and he sat beside me.

"Apparently, it seems you became a hybrid just when you were made an original."

I nodded.

"So as for vampires, werewolves have their own laws." he continued and I nodded. Listening to everything he said closely. "Werewolves ... everyone born with a soulmate. What you would call... a mate."

He ran his hand through his hair and took a deep breath. "Mates are drawn in by scent, presence, and even touch. Slowly, their senses become sharper when it is about their mate. Being drawn to one another." I pushed my legs against my chest, resting my head on top of my knees while looking at him.

He stared right at me for what seemed like forever. Time stopped and it felt like we were the only ones in this world.

Looking down at my lap, I take a deep breath. "Are you saying..." I trailed off.

"Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying." he agreed without me even finishing what I said.

I looked at him. Not knowing what to say. Heck, I don't even understand what's going on.

"How?" were the only words I was able to say. "I-I mean... We're practically dead. How can we abide by werewolf laws?" I asked.

He started thinking. "That I don't know. But I made a witch Marcel allowed to use magic research for me."

I'm surprised a witch would agree to work along with Klaus. They hate any kind of original. Trust me, I experienced their dislike first hand a while ago.

"Where is she?"

"There's no need for you to know. Knowing you, you'll just try to kill her."

I smiled sheepishly. "So what should I do?" I crossed my arm. "Not like I'll just stay still and wait for you to give orders. How do we solve this?"

He put his hands in his pockets. Shrugging. "Do as you please. The doors are sealed with magic so neither of us can get out unless we ask the witch."

I sniffed around and quickly spotted the alcohol. Walking over there. I ignored Klaus and opened it up. Grabbing a whiskey bottle and sitting down on the couch, placing my legs on top of the table.

Drinking, I heard footsteps enter a room upstairs while I began drinking. This is going to be a hell of a time.

*

Before I knew it, I drank more than 3 whole bottles. Not hearing a single sound coming from upstairs, and not caring. Until the door opens up again...
