~Daryl's POV~

I am the biggest idiot ever. First I treated her like she was shit and almost fully lost her trust. Now I tried to kiss her. That was no way to win her back. Where has my God damn sanity gone? Beth probably has the image in her head that I am some perverted freak. What a great reputation to have. I groaned internally at the thought then attempted to brush it off. I needed to focus on the task at hand. We still had an entire street full of shops and stores to sort through. Food, clothing, weapons and even a safe place to spend the night was on the checklist. So far we had none of those things and we were running out of daylight. The last thing we need is to get stuck in the streets in utter darkness with possible walkers lurking around us.

My thoughts getting the best of me again, I wandered absentmindedly to building number two with Beth lagging slightly behind me. What was running through her mind? God, she just forgave me and then I had to go and try to kiss her. I looked behind me at her and witnessed red spread across her pail face. Beth was definitely more embarrassed by the situation and not revolted as I had previously thought. Having the power to fluster her made me smirk. When she saw my expression, her face turned pure scarlet. I let out a little laugh and turned back to face forward. I could've sworn I heard a muffled "shut up" from behind me. Spiteful one she is.

When we reached the building, I noticed it was some form of a convenience store. This could hold our dinner and hopefully medical supplies. We were both a bit scratched up and the last thing we needed was to get some sort of infection. Hunger was also beginning to take its toll and I could hear the low grumbling complaints coming from my stomach. I couldn't even imagine how hungry Beth was considering she wasn't used to not eating for days on end as I was.

"M'lady," I grinned while holding open the door for her.

"Why thank you, kind sir," she replied playing along. I gave her a wink and we entered. The place was nearly untouched and shelves stocked with canned foods, drinks, supplies, and everything we could possible need, were neatly lined up, waiting for us. "Damn," I sighed.

"Finally, we get a little luck. We hit the jackpot!" Beth smiled brightly at me with pure joy. I hadn't seen that expression on her face for far too long now. I almost forgot how much I needed to see her that way. Beth was adorable and I mentally slapped myself for continuously pushing her away and being a dick. There was no way in hell I was escaping from her, Beth had me wrapped around her frail little fingers. The corners of my mouth twitched upwards and I didn't even bother hiding my smile as I went to explore the store. I began to collect an armful of loot when Beth came bounding my way with her hand behind her back. "Guess what I found?"

"What?"

"Your supposed to guess, stupid!" she retorted.

"Fine then. Um, canned food?" I guessed lamely. Beth just raised her eyebrows at my pathetic guess, "Not even close. I will give you a hint. You in specific need this to survive."

"You?" I blurted. She blinked in confusion and gave a surprised cough. The tips of her ears turned pink and she let out a nervous giggle. "N-not quite. It's this," she explained as she revealed what was behind her back. About 5 perfect arrows were in her grasp. The exact kind needed for my bow. "You found these at a convenience store?" I asked in disbelief.

"Yes," Beth squealed in excitement, "they have a whole section c'mon!" She tugged at my wrist and I felt myself smile even at such a small gesture. Beth dragged me to a corner the the store that held an archers heaven. A whole wall covered in bows and arrows of all kinds. "The town must be into hunting and that's why they carry all this," she said gesturing to the display.

"But, why hasn't anyone come here? I mean the door wasn't hard to break open."

"Eh," she shrugged.

After admiring all of the bows, I came back to my senses and realized we need to find a place to sleep. I had lost track of time and it was now nightfall. We didn't want to risk going back outside and brave the walkers. Sure, there were houses with comfortable beds out there, but the risk wasn't worth it. The convenience store tile flooring would have to do. After blockading the door, I found us some sleeping bags. Setting mine on the floor, I called Beth over. I handed her one and she immediatley plopped hers directly next to mine. Beth slipped into hers and let out a content sigh. I was about to lie down and do the same, when some how my foot got wrapped in the blankets. I lost my balance and stretched my arms out to brace the fall. Unfortunately, I landed directly above Beth and was basically straddling her. Our faces were so close just like earlier that day. That need to kiss her came flooding back.

I saw her nervously bite her soft pink lips ever so gently. What little control I had left was now gone. My eyes darkened and I closed the space between us. I felt our lips connect and my body tingle. At first it was soft and gentle filled with passion. Then Beth surprised me and hardened the kiss. It was now lustful and filled with desire. I could tell she wanted this moment just as much as I did. Our lips moved in perfect synchronization and it felt like the purest thing in existence. No kiss had ever felt like this or made me go this crazy inside.
