**When they were kids

I gripped my big brothers hand. Chris told me and Dalton and Wes that we were going to his friends party. Chris whispered to me that his friend had a little sister, so I won't be outnumbered for once! He said her name was Aspen and I think that's a very pretty name. 

Chris knocked on the front door, his friend has a fancy house. Our house is a one story house with four bedrooms. I'm lucky I'm a girl, because mommy and dad don't want me sharing a room with Wes and Dalton. They think they're too rough with me, which they aren't! I'm smarter than both of those dolts.

The door opened and a girl was standing in the way. She gave Chris a hug and let us in. I think she's his friend.

Her name was Avalon, which is also a very pretty name. I think it's cool that Avalon and Aspen's names begin with the same letter. Aspen came into the living room where we were standing, since Chris was talking to Avalon. I bet he likes her.

Aspen seemed very shy, like we were mean. She didn't talk much. Until Wes started talking to her, very softly and kindly. Which is very unlike Wes. 

Aspen finally warmed up to us and took us outside, suggesting we play Spies. I nodded, "First one to the tree house gets to choose their team and base!", Aspen yelled. We giggled and ran, Aspen was a really fast runner and beat all of us. Wes beat me but I beat Dalton. Aspen picked me for her spy team and the tree house as our base, which is so cool!!

We played for a long time before we got bored. Then Aspen and I snuck cookies off the table because we weren't allowed to eat them before the cake. For some reason. For a little while, I couldn't find Aspen or Wes but then Dalton found them hiding under a table together.  Dalton told me he thought Wes liked Aspen but that's silly. They're just friends.

Then we had to leave and I was sad because I was going to miss Aspen.

Chris rambled about Avalon and Wes went on and on about Aspen. Chris was dating Avalon but Wes just had a crush on Aspen. I don't have a crush on anyone yet.

I don't see the need, all the boys I know are friends with my brothers and I can't like them because that'd be really weird.

I hope I can see Aspen again soon.
