I sat in back the silver-grey Subaru outback of the social worker. She gripped the steering wheel tight as she drove as if she was holding herself back from punching something. I wondered why someone could be so unhappy with the job they chose. All the social workers I dealt with were like this so far. The only other social worker I dealt with was old though, at the age of retirement so one would understand her eagerness to get out of the work force.

Heavy rain beat against the roof of the car and windows. It was always rainy in British Columbia, Canada. I live in Victoria, a large city on pretty much an island. Not far from Oregan. There were rainforests in the province. Large redwood trees that grow so large due to the heavy amounts of downpour throughout the year. It barely snows and it gets extremely hot in the summer. It's nicer I guess.

We drove and drove for what felt like an hour. No music played. Leah did not talk. If I tried to start a conversation she would shush me.

So I sat there with my back hunched over and my hands covering my face. I had fake eyelashes on and my eyebrows down. My usual routine for makeup. Beside me I had my large bookbag I bring everywhere. It was camo. The nice urban camo though, not the redneck camo. It had things I stole like shirts from zumiez or bras and panties from La Senza. Mom lost her job a while back due to her addiction, and dad was just scraping by, and most jobs were taken so I didn't have money. It's no excuse for theft, but it's an addiction in itself. I had my makeup in that bag, My hair products.

In a suitcase I had all my clothes. Mainly puma, crooks & castles, adidas. Stuff I could never afford that I steal.

As we drove and drove it got darker. The clouds were masking the sky and moon, the darkness was hiding anyone out of the way of street lights. It was gloomy.

After about half an hour we arrived at the group home. Leah glanced at me.

"Ok. Get out." She said as she opened up her door and pulling the hood of her rain jacket over her head. She ran inside, leaving me to get out myself, carrying my things inside with nothing but a black Nike Hoodie and camo sweatpants.

When I got inside I warmed up. Leah went over things with one of the workers. I heard her name was Susan.

As I sat down, I saw a girl peeking out a corner. She looked a little older than me, She stood at around 5'0. An inch or two taller. She had kinky/curly hair. Gorgeous and glowing mocha skin. Pine green eyes. Her figure was curvy with thick thighs. Her hair was loose and gorgeous. Her curls looser than mine. She had both sides of her nose pierced with thin gold hoops in the piercing. She had huge gold hoop earrings. She was wearing black sweatpants with a white velvet tight top that showed her belly button ring. On her feet she had white velvet socks too. When I glanced at her, She smiled revealing braces.

I smiled back.

The girl walked over, sitting beside me on the black leather couch. She looked over at me and grinned.

"Yo I'm Sage." She said in a deep yet gorgeous voice that could put a person to sleep.

I blushed a little at the sound of her voice. "I'm Aquila." I replied as I took my hoodie off. Under my hoodie was a black body suit, with my camo sweats over it. It's one of my favorite outfits. I had a gold chain I stole on and gold color hoops like Sage's. Mainly because its currently a trend.

"Hey, I'll show you to our room." She said smiling as she grabbed my suitcase for me. I picked up my camo bookbag and followed her up the stairs, then up another flight of stairs and into a room with two double beds against the wall on opposite sides of the room. She plopped my suitcase on one of the beds. It had black sheets and white pillows. She sat on the bed, patting her hand against the spot beside her for me to sit.

"So. Are you fron here?" She asked, twirling her hair around her finger.

I nodded. "Mhm." I said as I glanced down at her lips. They were plump and pink. Her nose bridge was low and straight, small and cute. She had a heart shaped face and doe like eyes. Her eyebrows done well yet still naturally full. At first she had eyelash extensions until I noticed they were natural.

"What side of the city." She asked softly, watching me closely.

"South Side." I said in my silvery yet gloomy tone. But i started feeling happier. This girl had a good vibe.

Sage nodded, raising a brow. "South Side eh?" She said, intrigued. "I'm from the west side." She replied.

Sage and I talked more, It felt like hours. We talked and talked about interests and so on. We had allot in common.

"What music do you like?" She asked.

I shrugged, thinking for a minute. "Mainly rap."

"Me too." She replied. "Which artists?" She asked.

"Hopsin, Joyner Lucas, SZA, Tyler, Chance the rapper, earl, frank ocean, Deetranada, Jaden Smith, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Princess Nokia." I told her, hoping she listened to em as well.

Sage's eyes widened and she immediately grabbed me and wrapped her arms around me.

"Oh my god me too!!" She giggled. "Do you know how many people come to this group home and don't know a single rapper??" She exclaimed, smiling.

I smiled back. "We got so much in common." I added as we hugged. I then pulled away, and i caught a glance of her eyes. They were the most beautiful shade of green I had seen. Like beautiful emeralds sparkling in a mine. Like the leaves of palm trees in Costa Rica.

We both just smiled at one another as i breathed in her sweet scent. She must have been wearing the most beautiful perfume. She smelled like fresh coconuts and strawberries.

I pulled away and looked at my hands as if they were the most interesting thing in earth... Yet I couldn't help but look back at her...
