The party in chat & party is where you and your friend(s) hang out. I know you're like, I can just join my friend. So can my other friends. Parties are MUCH faster. Trust me. And they usually find a server for you all.
How Parties Work Q/A:
Q: It didn't work! I joined while in a party and my friend(s) aren't in the game!
A1: Only the party leader can have everyone join.
A2: You didn't click the 'Find Game' button.

Q: The game shut down on me! I was forced to join this other game!
A: Blame the party leader! when the leader leaves and joins another game. The game that the leader left shuts down on those who were playing.
