Chapter 16

"I've just been through a lot!" She spoke up.

I stood up and walked towards the doctor's chair.

"Yeah, I know. Do you love him?"

"Who?"

"Austin?"

"Yeah but I like you too!"

"We'll take him. I have a girlfriend and we shouldn't have even kissed so just don't say anything and I promise you I won't."

She stared at me with a depressed face. I didn't know what to say. I like her but more like a friend. It just weird in a way. I think for now we should just stay friends.

"Friends?" I continue after a while.

"Sure..."

The room remained awkward. I began to think about my brother and how he was doing in surgery. I thought about it for a while, a long while. What if he doesn't make it through. I can't be friends with Austin. He punched my brother so hard and because of that he has to go through brain surgery and then... I refused to think the word.

"Don't think negative about your brother." Ariana reassured me.

I looked at her and gave her a weak smile. REALLY WEEK.

I thought of calling my parents they don't even know that Jacob is even here.

Call

Me: Hey mom!

Mom: hey sweetheart how is everything going?

Me: That's actually why I called you! there was sorta of an incident.

Mom: Did you guys break the door down again?

She giggled.

Me: Mom this is more serious. Jacob was at his friends party and he punched Austin and Ariana. Austin got really mad at stuff and punched him really hard and he hit the floor pretty damn hard because he is in...well... Brain surgery!

The phone stayed silent and when I looked at the screen, the call dropped. I bet you she was rushing over here. I would to if my son was in that position.

Ariana's POV

It meant a lot to me. The kiss was magical. I remember everything and I am totally excited but now things are really nerve wrecking right now and I am grieving. I know Jacob lied to me and things like that but honestly we are still close friends and it hurts me to let him be in that position.

I can't imagine what he must be feeling.

"Where did my dad go?"

I looked around when I finally saw Alex sitting on the doctor's chair spinning around and around over and over again.

He stopped at looked at me firmly.

"I dunno?"

He continued on with spinning

I walked out of the room and asked the lady in the front. If she has seen a man walking in the hallways and then I described my dad in detail.

"The one that was involved with the Jacob patient?"

"Yup!"

She broke the news to me and I was speechless.
