Chapter Five-

Harry was looking down at his phone when I started walking again so he hadn't noticed me yet.

He had on black skinny jeans with boots and white v-neck that hugged his toned upper body. Over that was a black sweatshirt that he had unzipped.

His curly hair was pushed back off his forehead but was slightly messy from being blown in the wind. It looked even more sexy this way and that alone made me trip over my own feet.

"Shit." I cursed at myself when I stumbled.

He lifted his head an shoved his phone in his back pocket when he heard me.

A light chuckle escaped his pink lips as the color rushed to my face.

"Hello Ava. Are you going to be able to walk in those shoes the whole night?" He mocked.

"Yeah!" I cracked, "I just like...tripped over a..uh..rock? Yeah a rock." God I'm so stupid. I laughed nervously to make my lie more believable but it only made Harry laugh again.

His dimples were prominent in the slowly fading light and his eyes were glowing green.

He shook his head and held out his hand.

I stood there staring at it, unsure of what to do. His long fingers twitched after being held in the air so long and I looked up to meet his eyes; which were still very far away from mine even with the wedges on.

"I promise I don't bite." He smiled.

"Oh, sorry.." Humiliation clear in my voice.

I reached out my hand and he took it, slowly bringing it up to his lips before planting his soft lips on the top of it. The kiss made my skin tingle and I immediately had goose bumps.

Pulling my hand away slightly, he smiled and said: "You look lovely tonight, Ava."

I blushed at his words and he released his grasp.

I smiled back at him while mentally debating on whether or not to say he looked good too.

"Thanks," I said after a few seconds had passed. I looked down at my feet and continued, "Uh..you look nice too." It was barely audible. I peaked up and saw his face light up so I knew he had heard me.

"Are you ready to go?" Harry asked when he caught my eyes again.

I let out the breath I was holding and nodded my head.

I felt his hand rest on the small of my back to gently guide me forward.

The action was small and meaningless but sweet at the same time so I was disappointed when he took his hand away.

"You know," Harry began, "You are quite different in person than you are over text."

My face paled as a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"Uh..yeah. I guess you're right." I stammered as we walked. "It's easy to be um, confident when you're behind a phone."

As soon as I said it, I knew it made no sense at all. I didn't know what it was about Harry Styles that made me so nervous, let alone incapacitated.

His eyebrows furrowed together and deep lines of confusion appeared on his beautiful face. "What do you mean?"

I knew he would ask that.

"Well," I began, taking a deep breath before diving into the pool of awkwardness. "you..make me..really nervous."

I turned my head away after the last word and I felt Harry's hand on wrist, tugging to stop me from walking.
