If you read Ghostly before I re-wrote it, you'll maybe have a sense of deja-vu in this chapter :)
{Chapter Six}
"Oh my gosh, we are in so much trouble!" Jess rushed into the mall frantically. It was Friday afternoon, and the party was in four hours. I didn't see what the rush was. I found my homecoming dress in about ten minutes last year... and this was just a party. Not something huge. But Jess insists that we must look 'our best' at every occasion.I personally think that she just wants to impress a certain Mark Walters...
"Jess, calm down!" I yelled as she dragged me into the nearest store.
"How can I not be freaking out? The party's in three hours and eight minutes and we don't even have a presentable outfit!" she ranted, dashing to the racks.
"Um... blouse and jeans?" I suggested. Jess twirled around, hand on hip, giving me that 'are you serious?' look that she mastered so perfectly.
"Lily, listen," she began, "this is a party... at Liam Daniel's house. The Liam Daniels, the most popular guy at our school. This is our chance! Mark is going to be there!"
I rolled my eyes, "We are pretty epic. But why should we care what they think? In twenty years, Liam's going to be arrested for molesting teenagers or something."
"I'm going to be arrested for what?"
My eyes widened. Oh, shit. I slowly turned around to be face-to-face with the Liam Daniels.
"Um... what are you doing here?" I asked, surprised. This was, after all, a girl's clothing store. I'm pretty darn sure that Liam isn't a cross-dresser, either.
"My girlfriend," he answered. Ah, that made sense. "So, what was I going to be arrested for?"
"Nothing!" I chirped quickly, my brain racing. He looked skeptical, but didn't press.
"Liam!" a high-pitched voice screeched, causing the three of us to cringe. Damn, that hurts your ears.
"Yes?" he winced. Hm, someone doesn't like his girlfriend! Not good, these popular pricks are hopeless.
"How do I look?" A blonde haired girl pranced out of a nearby dressing room, wearing a too-short, too-tight, too-low, and too-bright-pink dress. No, seriously, it was a blinding bright magenta that screamed for attention. She would definitely get noticed in that dress.
"You look great, sweetie," he said, not even glancing at the dress as he stared at some poor, innocent girl's ass. What a dick.
She huffed, "That what you said for the past five dresses."
He turned to look at her and gave her a peck, "Because you look great in everything."
Jess and I where over here, silently gagging, and Katie, the blondie, giggled madly. Before things got too heated, we ran to the store right across from the first store.
"Oh, god, that was positively awful!" Jess gasped.
"I know. That relationship is going to last a month, maybe," I predicted.
"No way, give it a week," Jess argued, "He just wants to get laid. Please, they'll be over in three days."
"Whatever, you needed an outfit?" I reminded her. She gasped.
