At home, Waluigi contemplated how he had now caused two accidents; both were crimes that he could be punished for. He knew eventually the truth would be out and the police would be after him. After a little of panicked thinking, he decided he had to create a fake identity and run away.

The next day, Waluigi went to the local Mushroom Shop and picked up a Weird Mushroom, thinking that since he was already weird and thin, that it would make him gain a bit of weight. He gulped it down, and it did just that. He then went down to Wario's house, who was his best buddy in the world. Waluigi knocked on the door.

"Hey. What do you need?" Wario said quite grumpily.

    "Its me, Waluigi!" Waluigi replied.

"WHAT? You look nothing like Waluigi!"

"I know. That's the point." Then Waluigi told Wario the whole story of what happened.

"Mamma Mia," said Wario. "Well, you look pretty good already, but you need a name." And at that moment, both of them agreed on it. The name they decided on was Sanik. Back when Waluigi killed Shadow, he got caught in the moment and took his shoes. Wario thought that if he wore them, everyone would think that he was just another character from the Sonic Universe. No one would think that he was a part of the Mario Universe at all - he was just a mildly overweight Sonic.

After saying a sad goodbye to Wario, Waluigi caught a train to Koopa Cape, where he knew of several uninhabited islands where he could build a house. However, his train had stopped midway through the journey. A loudspeaker went off and said, "Is anyone on this train named Waluigi?" Panic went through 'Sanik', as he wondered whether or not he would be caught right then and there. But no one could see through his disguise, could they?

Waluigi was shaken with fear as a Pianta police delegation entered the train, searching for him. He tried not to look nervous but he definitely was. As the police entered the carriage, one of them noticed a trolley stacked top to bottom with food. They then took a much needed break and started to eat the food very slowly, savouring every bite. This was Waluigi's time to escape! He quietly stood up and started walking nonchalantly towards the next car, which had the bathroom in it. But when he opened up the door, the cops looked up at the noise.

"Stop!" one of them shouted. Waluigi ran, jumping off the train and running away as fast as he could. Luckily, the police weren't expecting to actually find him and hadn't brought any long-range weapons. However, they still called for backup. Waluigi knew that he would be caught eventually, but he wanted to prolong that for as much as possible. He ran into a nearby forest, and kept running until he reached the darkest part of the forest.

It was virtually darkness; he could barely see a foot in front of himself. However, because he ran in a straight line into the forest, Waluigi knew that he could hopefully just turn around at a 180° angle and go back to leave the forest. Unfortunately, there was just one problem. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Boos lurking in the trees. Waluigi was deathly frightened, and unfortunately, he lost his straight path. However, he had no choice but to press on into the forest. He found a footpath, and not wanting to be wandering in the forest aimlessly with boos around, followed it. As he was getting closer to the end of the path, he saw light. Waluigi was getting hopeful; maybe it was the end of the forest and he could leave this frightful place. But when he reached the end of the footpath, he soon realized he hadn't ended up at the end of the forest, but at... Luigi's Mansion?
