Mark was the first one up, and he sat in bed, thinking over the day before. When King shifted, looking up at him sleepily and smiled, Mark grinned. "Good morning King."
"Morning." King stretched.
Mark shifted a little, then sighed. "Come on." He smiled, getting out of the bed.
King watched him, slowly sitting up. "Where are you going?"
"Where WE'RE going." Mark corrected. "We're going to put peanut butter on our faces and look for squirrels."
Mark couldn't help but smile as King's face lit up. "Really?!" He squealed.
Wilford groaned, shifting. "Shh..." Mark hushed King. "Yes. Now come on." King quickly slid out of the bed, jumping up and down before following Mark down to the kitchen. Mark lifted him up and sat him on the counter. He grabbed a jar of peanut butter, opened it, and held it out to him. King stuck his hand in, grabbing a glob and spread it between his hands before plastering it on his face. Mark chuckled slightly, watching him. He grabbed a cloth and cleaned off King's hands, lifting him down before he stopped to stare at the peanut butter jar. He glanced down at King's excited, peanut butter coated face before sticking his own hand into the jar. "This is going to be a pain to get out of my beard." He mumbled.
"That's why I don't have one!" King grinned.
"Mmhm." Mark chuckled, then sighed, smearing the peanut butter over his face, hearing King clap his hands excitedly. Mark washed his hands, then grabbed King's hand and led him out to the back yard. "Go ahead."
"I'm King of the Squirrels!" King screamed, running through the yard.
Chuckling, Mark threw his arms in the air, running after him. "Me too!" King giggled, turning and ran around the yard in circles, Mark chasing after him.
When Amy wandered down stairs later, leading Wilford along by the hand, she found Jack standing and staring out the glass door, sipping a cup of coffee. "Top of the morning to ya." She teased.
Jack glanced over, chuckling softly. "Laddies. You gotta have the laddies in there, or it's not proper." He sipped his coffee again, before glancing back out the window.
"My mistake." Amy chuckled. "What's so interesting out there?"
"Oh... Mark's running around the yard, covered in peanut butter." Jack smirked.
"You mean King?" Amy asked, wandering closer.
"He's there too..." Jack chuckled.
Raising an eyebrow, Amy leaned into Jack, watching through the glass door. "Oh wow. That's my man!" She laughed.
Jack laughed with her, glancing at her. "He sure is! I'm not sure there's competition who could handle all of that."
Amy smiled. "Actually, I'm kind of glad he's letting loose. I think he's been stressed out about having the egos here for so long... and tiny."
"Pint-sized." Wilford yawned, still holding onto Amy's hand.
She glanced down at him and smiled. "Mmhm. Pint-sized." She looked outside again, watching as Mark stopped running to crouch down, grabbing at King as he ran past. King dodged his hands, shouting something they couldn't hear inside and Mark stood again, dashing after him. "It's good to see him bonding with King though. King's been really attached to him."
Jack nodded. "Yeah, he mentioned that." He glanced down at his coffee, then over at Amy. "Uh, did you want a cup of coffee? I made some. Hope that's alright."
"Oh yeah, it's fine. You're the guest though, I'm not making you get me coffee." Amy grinned, heading towards the kitchen. She had let go of Wilford's hand, but he wandered along behind her, still wanting to be close.
