Night had already taken over the day, his lamp cascading harsh light onto his desk. His eyes ached as he looked to the next problem before dropping his pencil and sighing. He rubbed his eyes and stood up, stretching before he heard a knock on his door. Tamaki made his way over, checking the peephole before perking up immediately.
He fixed his hair, pulling at his wrinkled shirt and winced when he saw the food stain on his pants. Tamaki looked around for something, anything to cover it up, but panicked when the person on the other side of the door knocked again. He opened it up, bashfully swinging his hand up to his neck.
"Tamaki!" they exploded into the room.
"What are you doing here, Y/N?" he asked, closing the door behind them.
"Couldn't sleep and feeling a bit anxious. What are you doing awake?" they countered, sitting down on the bed before snuggling into the blankets.
"Studying," he said, grabbing a sweatshirt as he realized they weren't going anywhere soon. He yanked it over his head and pulled it down, hoping it covered that food stain. "Why are you feeling anxious?"
"Don't worry about it. Take a break," they said. "You need some rest," they patted the spot next to them and smiled. "Come cuddle."
Tamaki's ears burned as he tried to stutter out a response. "O-ok," he said, blanking.
"Are you just gonna stand there or some over here?" they asked, pushing their eyebrow up when he stayed glued to his spot. He immediately walked over, sliding in and feeling excitement with tingles of anxiety running through his center. "Come on Tamaki, stop acting like this is the first time you've done this," they said, pulling on his arm to get him to scoot in closer.
"Sorry, I just still can't believe I get to do this with you," he mumbled, a healthy flush spreading across his cheeks. They wrapped their arm around him and buried their face in his chest. He brought his hand to rub circles into their back. His eyes took into account how tired he was and how warm it was next to them under the covers. His breathing slowed and his eyes fluttered closed, comfortable and safe.

No one noticed a thing until morning when the morning alarm went off and Tamaki slammed the snooze button, rolling back over and opening his eyes tiredly. He was nose to nose with a peacefully sleeping Y/N. Their bleary eyes fluttered open and came into his. A soft smile was granted to him and he returned it. In a haze, the words slipped out of his mouth:
"Hey, you're the only one I wanna wake up next to," he said sleepily. Their eyes widened, it was their turn to blush before Tamaki realized what he said. "Sorry, that was probably creep-" he was interrupted by soft lips against his own. His eyes shut, lips moving sluggishly slowly.
"Right back at you, baby boy," they replied after pulling away. The moment punctuated by the burst of the alarm. They groaned and Tamaki rolled over again, turning it off fully this time. Time to face the day again, but he could do it if he woke up to that every morning... definitely.

idk why it moved so quickly. it was like 1 sec u were in the room and then a sec later yall were cuddling. idk at this point.
