Caleb's POV
I was in the middle of a really good dream when I was abruptly woken up by someone jumping in my bed. My first thought was that it was one of the twins, but I realized the person was a lot heavier than them. My shot opened, landing on the doofus I haven't seen in months.
Devon Morrison was a good friend that used to live in town, but having two parents in the Navy caused him to move around a lot. For a moment I thought I was seeing things. He usually only comes around during the summer.
"Morning sunshine," he grinned, still standing in my bed eating a piece of toast. "This your girlfriend?" He asked, picking up the Penguin. "Cute," He laughed.
"Off my bed, asshole," I swiped his legs with mine, causing him to fall to the floor with a thud.
"That is no way to great your best friend," he groaned, looking down at his crumbled toast. "And you ruined my food."
Climbing out of bed, I laughed at him. Picking up a pair of jeans from the floor and sniffing them to see if they were still good to wear. "Who let you in here?"
"Victoria," he smirked as he said my mother's name and I rolled my eyes. "Man, your mom is..." He whistled and I smacked the back of his head.
Devon was a little obsessed with the female species. He was all ways looking for his next girlfriend and he's had a lot. He wasn't a player though, he actually saw a future with the girls until things went wrong. He was just unlucky in love.
"How solid is your parent's marriage?" He smirked again. My hand was ready to give him another well deserved smack to the back of the head, but then I heard my window slide open.
"I have the perfect name for the penguin," Josie sang as she climbed through my window, oblivious to the fact that Devon was sitting on my floor. "How about we call him -"
"Josephine Gonzalez?" Devon shot up to his feet, a wide smile on his face.
She knew Devon from when we were little, but they were never really friends.
"Oh, Devon Morrison. How nice of you to randomly show up," she replied while walking past him. Okay so she kind of despised him.
"Glad to see you've haven't changed," he remarked. He loved to piss her off and was really good at it.
He was obviously checking her out, not being discrete about it at all. My jealousy levels were through the roof right now.
"Uh, I'm going to run my name suggestions by the twins," Josie said, walking out of the room.
Devon watched her, clearly watching her butt as she left. "Wow, she's a lot hotter than I remember."
"Off limits." I growled.
"What do you mean off limits?" He laughed, then slowly stopped as I glared at him. "Wait, are you and...? Wow, okay. Off limits." He agreed.
Josie's POV
I had walked into the twins Tinkerbell themed room to talk about names, but had somehow gotten roped into watching Moana. We were in the middle of singing "You're Welcome" when Caleb walked in, laughing at us.
"Sorry to break up the party, but I need to borrow Josie," he chuckled and the twins groaned as I got up from the floor.
Caleb and I went downstairs to the kitchen. The table was full of various breakfast food and, even though I had just eaten, my mouth watered at the smell of bacon.
"Josie, I didn't know you were here," Victoria smiled, pouring her husband a glass of orange juice.
"You do know we have a front door, right?" Richard, Caleb's dad, joked.
"Yeah, but I get more exercise my way," I shot back with a laugh.
I watched as Caleb took a piece of toast, piling eggs, bacon and hashbrowns onto it before adding ketchup and then another piece of on top. The sight made me grimace. That boy could eat anything.
"Alright, Mom, Dad, we're leaving," Caleb announced.
"Wait, what about Devon?"
Right, Devon, the little twat who kept looking at my butt. I got irritated just thinking about him.
"What about Devon?" Caleb asked, looking to his parents.
"I've transferred to Park High," Devon chimed in from behind us, a wide grin on his face. I stood there in shock as Caleb went to give him a hug. I had nothing against him, but I don't know if I can stand him everyday. "We are going to have so much fun!" he added with a tinge of evil in his voice.
