Caleb's POV

"So are you two like, boyfriend girlfriend? Cuz I don't fuck with being a third wheel. Come on, don't make me a third wheel bro!" Devon rambled. He was sitting in the back of my car, Josie in the passenger seat. She hasn't really said anything to me this morning. Not since she's seen Devon.

"It's... undecided," I replied. I mean, it was undecided. We both confessed our love for each other, but she refused to let me become more. It was weird to have a girl reject me, but she was the only girl I wanted. The only girl I needed.

"So, y'all are like friends with benefits? Damn, okay C! I see you!" he exclaimed. I shot him a dirty glance in the mirror which immediately shut him up. We arrived at school a minute later, Josie climbing out without a word. She pulled out her phone and walked away, leaving me in her dust.

"Josie! Where you going?" I called after her. She swung around on her heels, pushing up her glasses.

"First period? I kind of have to show up, ya know. Not all of us get out of gym because we're the star soccer player," she spat. Why was she so mad? What did I do? Did I say something? Was she on her period? I knew not to ask, but it was a valid possibility.

"Oh, um, okay. I'll talk to you later then," I sheepishly replied. She nodded her head and walked away, catching up with Britney.

"Damn Harrison, what'd you do?" Devon asked. I shrugged my shoulders and headed towards the counselor's office to pick up Devon's schedule. He followed, bumping fists with a couple of guys from middle school. We ended up only having fourth period together, the same class I had Josie in. That was a blessing and a curse, I would soon find out.

Josie's POV

I was in the twin's room when I got the text from Britney. The text informing me that the "bet that Caleb was done with," was not over. Ian had texted her that the bet was raging at full speed, no end in sight. As much as I wanted to believe that Caleb wasn't involved, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of doubt. That's why I hadn't spoke to him much this morning.

"Hey, have you talked to him?" Brit asked as soon as I caught up with her. I shook my head, feeling guilty. Even if he was part of the bet, it was hard to ignore him. I had never done it before. "Babe you need to talk to him. He needs to know."

"How am I supposed to tell him? Oh so you know that bet that the soccer team has going on that you said you weren't a part of? Well I have reason to believe you are part of it! Sure, you're my best friend and you've never lied to me before, but I still have trust issues! Isn't that fan-fucking-tastic?!" I sarcastically rambled. I was frazzled, feeling my anxiety creeping up on me.

"That's exactly what you should say," I heard a voice from behind me say. I quickly turned around and found Devon standing behind me, arms crossed. I admit, he was hot. Revoltingly douche-baggish, but hot.

"Get lost asshole," I growled. I felt Brit elbow my side, signaling for me to shut up. "Ugh really? Fine. Devon this is Britney, Britney this is Devon. Can I leave yet?"

"Wow, JoJo, you-" he started.

"Don't call me that," I interrupted.

"As I was saying, you've gotten quite the attitude since last time I saw you. Also, hot. No wonder Caleb is drooling over you. At the same time I've always known you guys would get together," he continued.

"Thank you! See, it's not just me!" Brit replied. She pushed her red curls behind her ear seductively. I wanted to gag because of the looks the two were giving each other. He was biting his lip, staring down at her.

"Alrighty...... I, uh, I'm just gonna go...." I trailed off as I slipped away to the locker room. As I turned around, I found Alexa's lips planted on Caleb's. I stopped dead in my tracks, stuck staring. I eventually snapped out of my trance, speeding past them. I heard Caleb come after me, screaming my name.

"Wait- Josie- I can explain- please- Pineapple," he chased me. He grabbed my wrist but I snapped out of his grip, hot tears running down my face.

"Leave me alone," I cried. I felt all eyes on us. He still followed me, as if he didn't hear me. "I said leave me alone!" I screamed. I ran into the girl's bathroom, a place where he couldn't go. I ran into a stall, locking it behind me. If there was one thing Jose taught me, it was to not show my weakness. Never let another person see the pain they cause.

"Josie?" I heard Brit's soft voice echo. I didn't reply, but I wasn't quiet by any means. When I didn't answer after the third time, she climbed under the stall. There we sat, her holding me as I cried.

I love you Caleb Harrison.

I hate you Caleb Harrison.

Caleb's POV

"What the fuck did I just do? God I'm so fucking stupid!" I yelled as I stood outside the bathroom, waiting for Josie to come out. Devon was sitting next to the door.

"I don't know, bro. I mean, she was already mad at you. This won't help," he sighed.

"Why was she mad?" I asked.

"Something about a bet. Said she doesn't know if you're part of it or not. Ian texted Britney- who by the way is extremely good looking- who texted her," he informed me. What? Of course Ian had something to do with this.

While I was contemplating giving up, I heard the bathroom doors open. Out came Josie in Brit's arms, eyes puffy from crying. She averted my gaze, doing everything in her power to not look at me.

"Please, Josie, just listen," I pleaded.

"Harrison, back off. Haven't you hurt her enough already?" Britney answered for her. "Just leave her alone." And with that, they walked out of the school, presumably to leave. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.

"Hmph, boohoo. Wanna make out?" I heard Alexa say from behind me. She had an evil grin on her face. I stormed past her, Devon following me. She was the one who kissed me, the one who gripped my face. I won't lie though, I kissed back. I felt nothing though. They were nothing like Josie's kisses. God, Josie's kisses. Josie.

I love you Josie.

Please don't hate me.
