"Welcome to Wipeout everyone. Please make sure to keep your hands, legs, feet, and other body parts inside the ride while it is in motion. I will stop the ride if necessary. Do not unbuckle your seat belts under any circumstances. Keep your head pressed against the headrest. Thank you and enjoy the ride." I put the small radio back on the hook and started the ride after my coworker, Maria, gave me a thumbs up.

The screams soon began and I stopped myself from rolling my eyes. Jeez. The ride barely started.

Maria came over to the booth, removing the chain and hooking it back on after stepping in.

I kept my eyes glued on the spinning ride, making sure that no one was doing anything they weren't supposed to. Briefly, I glanced at my watch. My shift would be over soon.

"How are you and Alex?" Maria asked with a wink. She fixed her ponytail. It was starting to lower. We had to keep our hair out of the way to work here. Protocol.

"We're doing pretty well. He's still the same as when I met him. Super nice and super cute," I laughed. I ramped up the speed a bit and changed the direction of the ride. "I'm afraid I will not be able to see him much when school starts, though."

She's taken aback. "What, why? Are you transferring or something?"

"No, nothing like that. I'm looking for housing off campus. It's hella cheaper."

"Ohhh. It most likely is." She grabbed her water bottle from under the manual controls.

The weather was a little warm and sunny today. Thank goodness we had shade.

I began to lower the ride level to the ground and slowed it down. Grabbing the small black radio, I cleared my throat. "Ladies and gentlemen the ride is now slowing down. Please remain seated until it comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you and enjoy your day at the park."

Maria went out to open the lap bars.
"Please lift your hands way up to the sky. Your lap bars will now be removed. The exit is here on your right. Thank you for riding Wipeout and have a fantastic day."

Chris came and took over for me. I thanked him and said goodbye to Maria.

The sun was close to setting by the time I changed out of my uniform and headed to my car. I stretched my legs out. They were sore from standing all day.

I checked my phone for any new messages. There was one from Alex asking what we were doing tomorrow morning and another from Niall about the apartment. It had been two days since the party and he just got the information.

I got in my car and started it, as I sat reading what he sent me.

N: So Harry told me to send you these pics of the apartment. You can go see it yourself if you want. Rent is up for debate. It's located about 15 minutes from the college. Close to a marketplace and shit. There's also a swimming pool and basketball courts

Y: I don't play basketball

I began the drive home and listened to some tunes. At the stoplight, I quickly checked my phone.

N: But I do. I'll just invite myself over

Y: Hello no! Go to the park or something

The light turned green. I replied after parking in my parent's driveway.

N: Bad friend you are

Y: No, I'm not. I just don't need you to bug me. Besides, I don't know if I'm getting it yet

N: When do you want to meet him?

Y: I don't know when he's free
