It was the weekend and I was in my room waiting for my textbooks to arrive. They were supposed to come sometime in the afternoon and I did not want to miss them. I was paranoid that someone was going to steal them.
There was a knock on the front door and I jumped off my bed. "I've got it!" I yelled.
Harry was in the living room so he still managed to beat me to it. He opened the door and I tried to stop myself, but the socks I was wearing made me slip on the hardwood and I landed on my ass. "Shit!"
The deliverer and Harry stood towering over me. The former was at least trying to hold back a smile. Harry gave no shits and busted out laughing, lowering a hand to help me up. I smacked it away and stood up on my own.
"Delivery for Y/N L/N," the guy said. "I am assuming that is you."
"Yeah, that's me."
He handed me the boxes, which Harry took off of my hands and placed them on the table.
"Do I need to sign anything?" I inquired.
"Yes, right here." He held out an electronic pad and provided me with a stylus.
I signed and thanked him. When I closed the door, I went straight to grab my books and ignored Harry.
"Oh, come on," he laughed as he followed me. "That was pretty funny."
"Shut up." I tried to close the door behind me but he stopped it.
He groaned. "Don't be mad, Y/N."
"I'm not mad," I grumbled. I grabbed a pair of scissors and ripped open the boxes. "A little annoyed, but not mad." I could feel the pain in my ass and resisted the urge to rub it.
He came and leaned over my shoulder. "Textbooks?"
"Yeah. Have you gotten yours?"
"Should be coming within the next week," he told me. "So what is your answer?"
"About what?"
"Whether or not you should go to the bonfire tomorrow night?"
"It's tomorrow?"
"Yeah, it is. And the obvious answer is yes. I'll drive you."
I cocked my head to the side. "Why are you so insistent that I go with you? I'm sure you have other friends who are going."
He cleared his throat. "I just like hanging out with you more."
"Oh." I didn't really know what to say to that. Did I agree? I think I did.

I curled the last piece of my hair and tousled it around a bit, running my fingers through it. Loose beach waves seemed appropriate for a beach bonfire.
I studied myself in the mirror. My eyeliner looked pretty good. The only thing I swiped across my lips was a clear lip gloss. The night was almost as warm as day so I opted for a pair of shorts instead of jeans. I scoured under my bed for my favorite sandals and slipped them on as the door opened and then closed.
