"Noel"

A month is really a short amount of time when you think about it. It felt like just yesterday that we were in the hospital and just like that he had moved his stuff into the apartment and I had informed our caseworker that he would be staying at the house. There was no word on his brothers but Austin figured they had to go back home for the harvest. The only issue with Austin moving in was Amar and him being huge football fans. They wore Eagles gear and had me make them some hot dogs and burgers for dinner. I personally hated hotdogs after living in a foster home where the mother only knew how to prepare cold cuts and hot dogs.

"GO FOR IT, AYYYYYYYYYY," Austin shouted at the top of his lungs while I was sitting beside him bored out of my mind, head rested in my palm. Amar was eating his fourth hot dog without any condiments since I forgot to get ketchup and he hated mustard and mayonnaise. I would have told him to stop but it was a good sign that he was eating healthy. Plus I didn't want to spoil the good mood after his last successful checkup with Dr. Houdeck. I personally only watched sports during the Olympics otherwise I hated seeing the extremely overpaid grown men and women playing children's games.

"Dad can I get some juice," Amar said looking at Austin. If Austin was anyone else it would have scared the hell out of me seeing Amar bond with him so close but I knew he wasn't going anywhere especially with the thing still hidden in his mint container. He couldn't whisper or hide things well so I had to prepare to be surprised when he finally decided to ask me. The answer would definitely be a yes, in the nine months we had been together I think I'd grown more than I had in the past five years. I loved him and Amar loved him along with my siblings. JoJo might not have loved him but he was kind to him on the phone and when they came to visit with Toni.

"I think you've had enough for today how about some water," Austin told him.

"Daddy can you get me some water, I don't want to miss the blitz," Amar asked looking at me. I wasn't sure what blitz meant or if he used that correctly but I was happy to not be looking at the screen. I walked into the kitchen and got some water for him and Austin then walked by just as the last play happened.

"Woohoo," I said as they celebrated their team winning. I handed them both a water and began to clean up.

"Amar time for bed you have class in the morning," I told him and he immediately became low energy. I enrolled him in basic classes to get him up to speed before the school year. He liked it because he was making friends but hated that he had a bedtime during the summer.

"Hey no frowns go get ready for bed and I'll read to you," Austin said and started running water for dishes.

"Go take a bath or something I got this," Austin told me and I didn't really need to be told twice. I was tired from studying and could use a soak. I walked into our room which was recently decorated to fit both of our styles which did cause our first argument but we came to a compromise.
