All of the people in Servdon's house is fae. Which, of course, is subtracting me. So when the general signaled the execution guard to lower his sword while approaching me, I was about as ready to throw a fist for almost murdering someone.
The general circled around me, eyeing pretty much everything about me. "She can...she can see us?" He then looks over at Servdon. "Do you know of this mortal?!"
Servdon, eyes red from almost facing his death, nods. "She could see me while I was in the mortal lands, just hours after his majesty sent me to exile there. She's the reason I returned. I was going to try and see if I can get Adria to take her to his majesty and then return to the mortal lands unharmed." He looks at his family and boyfriend, and then over at me. "I fear that plan was botched."
"Well, you almost died, so...I think?" I add on but when I look up at the general, his scary eyes were on my face.
"State your name and your lineage." He orders of me.
Okay, that's some fancy shit.
"Uhh...Eliese Isabella Ardet? Also known as Ellie more so? Daughter of Daniel and Megan Ardet? Sister of Joshua Ardet?" Great everything I was saying was sounding like a question. "From Avon, Ohio? Thirty minutes west outside of Cleveland, Ohio? Home of the 2016 NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers?" I sound like I'm fucking stalling them. "Obviously Cleveland is probably some foreign land to you. Or the United States of America." I don't know how united you can say the country is now...
America.
"The United States of America?" General Scares the Crap Out of My Pants turns back to Servdon. "Is that the lands that his majesty sent you to?"
"I guess you can say that." Servdon answers. "But like I said before, I'm trying to get her to his majesty to see what is wrong. I swear on my wings."
General Creeper turns back to me. "Is he telling the truth?" I nod. Servdon did say that I needed to see this King guy to figure out how the hell I can see him since the mailbox incident. "Well, I guess I have to do the right thing. This is hellish. Johnsan, release him."
The execution guard, Johnsan, takes of the binds that held Servdon's wrists together and he stood up. Ercit, Hannis, and Adria all run over to him to hug him tightly, Adria putting his lips over Servdon's.
Scary General looks back at me. "I never introduced myself. General Timbu Longshen of his majesty's leading army of the Fire Clan." He bows his head.
I just give a nod. "Like I said before, Ellie." I hold out my hand. "Thank you for...not murdering my friend. It's gratefully appreciated."
Timbu just stares at my hand like I was holding some sort of drug. Dude, I'm not a drug dealer. "I can't shake hands with a mortal...my apologies. It's forbidden to do that as a high ranking member of the faerie military." He states sounding a bit somber.
"I understand." I put my arm down. "But what are we going to do about me again?"
"Oh. Right. Well..." Timbu glances at the family, "I can't go back to his majesty saying that his former caretaker has returned. He'll be furious. I think...I think we should go along with Servdon's original plan and say we spotted you and Adria outside the castle and how Servdon contacted him saying there is a mortal that can see him and such."
"So you're not ratting me out to Atlas?" We hear the voice of Servdon ask Timbu and I, Ercit, Hannis, and Adria still clinging onto him.
"Let's admit it, I know I can be tough on you, but I actually liked you." Timbu said patting his back. "It felt like I was spitting out those words about executing you. I'm sorry I did that. Now if you lived in Earth Clan, I'm pretty sure you would be dead by now." He lets out a chuckle, but no one was chuckling along with him. "Too soon? Apologies."
I take a quick deep breath. "So when do I leave?"
"Now."
~
"Ercit, you don't have to give me this dress. I can do fine without it." I tell Ercit as I am now wearing my pajamas from before to make it look like I was coming straight from the forest that I entered through instead of being here for what feels like many hours.
"No, Eliese. I offered my hospitality to you and as you continue your journey, I want you to keep this to remember us by." She insisted.
I look over at Hannis, since this was her dress, and she says, "I have plenty of dresses in that color actually. Others even that I sewed myself. Please keep it before I want to mute my mother." That earned a small laugh from me and I turned to Servdon.
"So I'm guessing you're returning back to the United States?" I ask him.
"Hey, you'll be alright around Adria. I've been courting him for three years. Trust me." He answers. "Also, if you could, maybe write every once and a while. I have never been to the mortal worlds before you came and I want to make sure I'm doing everything right."
"Alright." I say. "Just make sure to not wreck havoc on the world." I wrap myself into a hug with him, and he slowly hugs me back. We were like this for a bit until I released myself. "Thank you."
With that, the guards, Timbu, Adria, and I left for...wherever this palace is in this country.
