Simple Awakenings

Chapter seven

"So...three years?" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth to Adria as we were probably on what feels like mile one of who knows how many.

Adria looked over at me and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah. I am the messenger to the Count and Countess of the Fire Clan so seeing Servdon a couple of times was normal. Eventually whenever he came to visit, I would stop by. Next thing we know we had our first kiss and we decided to court. We already did have sex if you must know."

"I'm guessing courting is the synonym for dating in this world because courting in my world means no physical contact whatsoever until marriage." That caused Adria to cough a bit. "But I've never been in a courtship. Or had a relationship and don't tend to for a while. That is unless I can get a date for prom." I chuckle.

Wait. Home.

"FUCK!" I yell. "WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT HOME?! I DON'T KNOW IF I'M GOING TO BE FORCED TO STAY HERE AGAINST MY WILL BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY BROTHER?! WHAT ABOUT SCHOOL?! IT'S ONLY NOVEMBER!" I'm seriously flipping out right now. Seriously, I'm flailing my arms around and spinning in circles trying to understand what's going to even happen since I'm in a totally different world now.

"Eliese, calm down!" Adria placed his hands on my shoulders to hold me still. "It will be fine. Whatever his majesty has happen with you, he will make sure that your colleagues are well taken care of with his magic." He muttered something after that, but I couldn't understand it. I'll ask later. "Hey Timbu. Why can't we just portal to the castle? I ran too much than I already have in the past hour, and that's when I was running from you and your band of guards."

Timbu turned around and answers with the following: "Because I was unsure if Eliese would be comfortable with this type of transportation so I thought walking would be easier. But if you so desire." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out something. I swear if this is something from Doctor Strange with that cool hand motion that the Ancient One teaches Doctor Strange, my inner fangirl is going to flip out. Sorry, I'm a Marvel girl. Grew up in a Marvel family.

But sadly, it wasn't anything like that as Timbu straps the device onto his hand and holds it out in front of him muttering some words. I didn't get what was going on until a swirling ring of water was floating vertically in front of us.

I look at Adria and he makes a gesture that almost seems like he wants me to go through the swirling waterworks. My eyes grow big. "Wait, me? Through that?" I point to it.

"You've been complaining about walking, so this is the quickest way to the centre realm: by portal." Adria answers pushing me towards the portal. "And since you're the one with the problem, you're going first."

"Seriously?!" I move away from him. "Okay, I'll go. You don't have to push me towards that thing." He puts his hands up in surrender and steps away from me. I look back at the portal and take a deep breath, closing my eyes and walking forward. I could hear the swooshing noise from the portal as I continue to get closer to it. Suddenly, I could hearing the noise behind me and I open my eyes. I notice the portal in front of me wasn't there anymore. I turn my head and it was behind me. I really did it. I walked through a portal! Wow, I'm excited about teleporting through a portal.

Adria comes through and so does the army. "Well, we made it. Welcome to the Centre Realm." He does a gesture to the area as if saying something similar to "welcome to my crib, MTV!"

I look around the area and it's definitely different than from when I was in Fire Clan. Then something came into my view that I know is making me think if I am dreaming.

Yes, I am talking about a grand castle in the distance.

"Is that where we're going?" I whisper to Adria and he just nods in reply. "Thanks." Was all I can say as we keep walking towards the castle.

Okay, so I am actually walking towards a castle. An actual castle. Wow. This is a dream.

A couple of minutes later, we are at the front of the castle. Timbu is talking to one of the guards and he goes inside, and another is eyeing me. I'm pretty sure at one point that guard asked Timbu why the fuck is there a mortal here, except without saying the fuck.

It takes another couple of minutes for the guard that went inside to come outside saying something along the lines of how we can go inside, the king is waiting, blah blah blah. I wasn't paying attention I was still in awe that I'm actually at a castle.

I'm sorry but that's just me. I get excited over little things, okay?

The three of us walk inside, and my attention turns to all of the extravagant details of the interior of the castle. I was able to multitask with walking and looking. That is until I ran into Adria.

"Eliese, pay attention. We're almost there." He mutters and that's when I focus more on walking.

We make it to a room with double doors, and the guards open it. Down the ways and at the end of the room sat a man.

"Presenting his majesty Atlas Hopesy, the King of All of the Realms."
