I was woken up with a knock on my door after a couple of hours once I decided to go to sleep after staring out my bedroom window for a good half an hour. I sit up on my bed and groan saying, "One second" to whoever was knocking on my door. When I finally get out of bed, I went to the door and open it. Standing in the doorway was a girl who was about my age, maybe younger, with what looks like black hair to about the back of her neck and brown skin. She reminds me of my filipino friend. "Uh...hi." I say to the girl.
"Hello. I'm Rosamie. I was assigned by his majesty to be your caretaker." The girl replies walking into my room. "I was also told by his majesty that it is time for breakfast and he requests your presence."
It's breakfast already? Woah, time flies. "What time is it?" I ask Rosamie taking the hair tie that I always carry on my wrist and putting my hair up in a messy bun.
"It's 8:30 our time. I'm pretty sure it is different than your mortal times." She answers moving off to the side. I was about to leave until I remember King Atlas' stupid compromise to me keeping my pajamas from home is that he wishes not to see my pajamas.
"Give me one second. King Dicklas doesn't want to see me in these pajamas." I say. Rosamie nods and closes the door so I can change. I go to one of the wardrobes and pull out what looks like a baby blue sleeveless nightgown and throw it on. I find a dressing robe of the same color and just wrap it around me to hid the fact that I sort of forgot I am not wearing a bra with my pajamas.
"Alright, I'm ready." I tell Rosamie as I walk out of my room to see that she is still standing in the halls. Thank god she's leading me down to the dining room because I am already lost in this labyrinth of a castle. We make it to the dining room a few minutes later and that was when Rosamie leaves so I can enter and eat my meal.
As I enter the dining room, I notice that while Dicklas is sitting at the head of the table, there is another woman at the table also. She was dressed to the nines, both her hair and makeup on point, and okay this lady looked better than I could look at junior prom.
Dicklas looks up from his plate and then says, "Ah, the mortal finally shows up. There's an open seat for you right here." He points to the empty seat across from the lady as I sigh and walk over to the seat and well sitting in it. "Willa, I would like to introduce you to the mortal that I was telling you about. Mortal, this is Willa."
Willa looks at me and chuckles some. "Excuse my son and his manners. This is nothing like him." So this lady is Dicklas' mom? She's I'm guessing the Queen Mother of this country. "But what's your name, sweetie. I'm most certain you have a name that is not mortal."
So far out of everyone in this palace, Rosamie and Willa are my favorite.
"Eliese Ardet. But please call me Ellie. I don't like to be called Eliese." I answer to the Queen Mother. "It's...I guess lovely to meet you, your highness?"
"Please, call me Willa." Yep, this just further proves my previous point. "So, Ellie, we have a good abundance of food for breakfast this morning, so just tell us what you want."
What do I want for breakfast? Breakfast is not normally a meal I think highly about, especially when it comes to being at school later than usual.
"Is there coffee and oatmeal here?" I ask. I highly doubt this place would have Cinnamon Toast Crunch or any sort of cereal in their plethora of food that I am told about via Willa.
"We do have oatmeal, but coffee? We normally drink wine with breakfast." Oh great Scott, I've associated myself with the French. "But if you tell us what this coffee drink is, we might be able to work around something to make something similar to it."
