"You look stunning, ma'am." Rosamie says to me once she put some finishing touches on my look. "How do you think I did?"
Being honest, after being in this room for practically two hours, I was going to respond honestly. "I love it. You...you are a total miracle worker." She really was.
Rosamie beams as bright as the sun as we share a quick hug. "Thank you so much for saying that." She says releasing me from the hug. "I must get her highness because she requested from me that I see my finishing work on you." And with that, she runs out of the room.
I sit down on my bed, looking at the skirt of my gown. This is still crazy that I'm being pampered like a princess, but like I'm only here because I can see these type of creatures that are apparently suppose to not be seen by the everyday human eye. This is a lot of fun.
Haha yeah while I am having fun looking like this, I hate the whole reason that I am here because I do not want to be here against my will. But here I am. Against my will. In this...castle that is now my apparently new home for my entire life. Oh, I swear I'm going to begin to plot my escape soon.
That was when I heard a knock on the door getting me out of my little trance of me staring at my skirt. "Come in." I say not looking up. "I'm not naked." The door opens and entering the room was Rosamie and behind her was Willa.
I stand up when I finally notice Willa and unsure of what to do, I bow. "How do you do?" I ask sounding annoyingly fancy. I got that from Animaniacs, also known as my childhood.
"We're going to have to get her etiquette lessons." I can hear Willa whisper to Rosamie, but when I raise from my annoying bent over bowing position, she gasps. "Oh my gods, you look so beautiful, Ellie!" She compliments walking around me. "I would have never thought red would be your color. We'll have to get some more dresses for you this color because I think we only had a few select dresses that were red." She now looks closely and I see her eyes widen. "This was my dress from when I was your age. And it fits...it fits perfectly against your body." She tells me. She cups my face and looks me in the eyes. "I don't want you to think my son is being a dick, because we all know he is. I even know he is too after he exiled his former caretaker."
Servdon.
She's talking about Servdon now.
"What are you saying?" I ask in a hushed tone.
"What I am saying is what would you do if you encountered someone who was similar like my son?"
What would I do? I never really had to encounter someone similar to Atlas, which is a plus for me when my class is a combination of jocks, smart people, music and theatre people, and also assholes.
"I would normally just ignore them or imagine me kicking that person in the balls." I answer as honestly as I can to Willa.
That earned a chuckle from her. "Well, if anything, I give you full permission to kick my son in the balls if he treats you poorly. The men of our family and also the Realm have always been taught to treat woman as if they are the greatest thing the gods have graced upon them. That hasn't been happening a lot recently, but I feel like most male fans are still good. My son should still treat you the way he would treat one of his...special ladies."
Oh, great. Not only is Atlas an asshole, but a manwhore also.
"Yes, he is a manwhore." Willa adds on. Crap I forgot faeries can sometimes read minds. "That's a creative word to describe him. In the past, I've used the word dishonorable."
"But you were saying that he should treat me the same way he treats his sluts." I normally won't use the word slut but it felt like a good time to use it. "I am not sleeping with your son even if we were the last people on earth." I really hope I didn't hurt her feelings by saying that. I don't know the system with marriage and such. All I know is what Adria told me about dating/courting.
"Oh, sweetie, I did not mean have him bed you. I meant that the ladies he beds are normally treated like they are special, like they are the entire world. Like how the men of the family are raised to treat ladies. But with you, he only treats you terribly because you are mortal. I think that that is not the best excuse to treat you like dirt." Okay, that is more reasonable to explain that. "You are a beautiful mortal girl, Ellie. I just wish that my son wasn't such an asshole to you. If you ever need anyone to talk to or anything you need, the caretakers and I are here to help you."
I smile to her, the first real smile I gave in the time here, and nod. She raises her hand to under my eye and wipes her thumb underneath it. Was I crying? I guess Willa is reminding me of mom again so I guess that's what triggered the crying. She's just so sweet and humble and caring I don't know how the hell Atlas can be related to this lady.
"Actually, Willa, I would like something but I don't know if I can do this." I say to her pushing a stray piece of hair away from my face. Willa replies saying that she wants to hear it, and I give her what I want. "I want to write a letter to Servdon for Adria to give to him saying that I am alright. I believe that he heard from him my condition, and I want to thank him for all of his help. I don't know how I can write to my brother, but if I can, I would like to do that also."
Without hesitation, Willa granted my request to write to Servdon, but told me that with my condition of being in a world like this the fact that it's to a mortal who won't understand me, I can't write to Josh. I tell her that I understand why I can't write to Josh, but ask that if she can find something that can have me see him and maybe my friends, that it would be nice. She said that she would try.
~
Dear Servdon,
I asked Willa, the Queen Mother, if it was alright if I write you a letter for her to give to Adria and for him to give to you so you can know that I am in fact alive and well. She granted it and here I am writing to you.
Now if you're wondering why I mentioned Willa, I don't know if Adria or Timbu told you this, but King Atlas was fascinated by how a mortal can see faeries that he is forcing me to stay at the castle for the rest of my life against my will. I can't believe that asshole would do such a thing! Like doesn't he know that I have a life?! A normal, human life?! I really want to go home now. More than ever actually when I thought of Willa as my mother. I never really told you about my family, but I really don't think that now is the time to talk about it.
Anywho, I hope that you are doing alright in the mortal world. Wherever you are, I hope you are safe. Oh, and if you are still in Avon, my hometown which is where you found me, go to Dairy Treat in downtown Avon. Great ice cream. Also, go see a Cleveland Browns game. I'm sure that since no one besides me can see you, you can just walk into the stadium. If you do do that, I must apologize in advance because the Cleveland Browns are like the laughing stock of the National Football League. If you ever need help with any mortal things, just write to me.
I wish you well.
From,
Ellie
