Destined to be Alpha

Chapter 8

I waited patiently with about fourteen of my warriors at the edge of the Starlight territory. It had been four hours since we had taken over and there was still  no sign of Collin. I had hoped that one of his pack members had told him of us. Crap. Someone probably did and now he was probably taking extra precautions in coming back. 

He would probably get another pack to help him. 

"I'll be right back. I must talk to Matthew. Here's a walkie. Talk if anything happens." I handed it to James, the one who was the leader of our new warriors and had become my third in command. 

"Yes Alpha." He replied. 

I quickly shifted into my wolf and quickly ran toward the pack house. I sniffed and could tell he was in there. 

I shifted and put on a t-shirt and sweatpants and quickly made my way inside. 

"Matthew!" I called out. 

"Yes Alpha?" He said as he walked down the stairs. 

"I'm thinking that Collin's old pack members warned him of our presence. He probably is getting another pack to help him." I stated. 

"I was thinking the same. So are we going to round up a good amount of us near the border to wait for him there?" He asked. 

"Yeah I was thinking that would be the bast plan. Are his pack members firmly contained?" I asked. 

"Yes Alpha." He replied. 

"Okay I want you to stay here and have a couple warriors guard the cells to make sure none escape and then I'm going to take the rest of the pack to the border. Did you send anyone to bring the kids?" I asked. 

We had left the children and teens who had yet to shift back at my childhood pack with three warriors to protect them if need be. 

"No, I wasn't sure if you wanted them here until you kill Collin." He stated. 

"Good. Hopefully we can get them here soon. If Collin doesn't keep dillydallying." That caused Matthew to chuckle. 

I walked out of the pack house and picked up the walkie. 

"Any news?" I asked and released the button. I heard static for a few seconds and soon heard James' voice. 

"Nothing yet. Haven't seen any movement at all." He replied and soon static was heard again. 

"Okay. I'm gonna be coming with most of our pack members soon incase Collin brings an army with him." I stated and released the button. I listened to static as I waited for James to reply. After a minute I grew impatient. "James?" I asked and released the button. 

"Hey sweetheart." Collin's voice replied sending a chill down my spine.
