Months go by... Jungkook and I become even more closer than before. He did confess to me one day and surprisingly, I did too. I told him how I feel for him and so did he. But.. I still can't say that we're together now because he still doesn't asked me out yet and I just don't want to label us that soon. I don't want to look desperate, y'know. But he does what he always do to me- walk me home, eat lunch together, go to work together, but this time... he steals kisses from me every now and then, whenever he has the chance which I don't complain about...
....because I do the same sometimes.
JUNGKOOK'S POV
Chae and I walked to the police station, hand in hand, to have some updates about hyung's case.
"We're still in the middle of the investigation because all the evidences we've found leads us from one fact to another, making it hard to know which one is right." Changkyun explained to us calmly but his voice has a little bit of disappointment in it.
I looked at Chae who's head has been laying low since Changkyun started talking. I held her hand tighter, assuring her that I'm still here for her.
"I think we should just stop the investigation." she spoke so softly that me and Changkyun looked at her in suprise.
"What?"
"Let's stop this. It's no use. He's been dead for years now, yet, the stupid culprit is still living his life as free as a bird. We're just wasting our time and effort for nothing." She looked at me in the eyes while saying those words which made me a little bit uncomfortable.
"But, Chae.. This is hyung we're talking about. Why quit now?"
"Can't you see, Jungkook? It looks like that asshole who killed him ensured that no one will ever find a clue about his identity. Even the best police here at our country can't find him. So what's the use of continuing, right? I already accepted the fact that he's gone. I guess we all have to." She slowly stands up and made a slight bow at Changkyun. "Thank you for all those efforts you've made for this case. I owe you my life." With that, she made her way out of the police station making me stood up as well and followed her, forgetting to thank Changkyun.
"Chae... Wait up." I called out her name while increasing my pace to reach her. I held her hand and turned her around to be surprised to see her tearing up, making me quickly hugged her and rubbed her back. "Shhh... Don't cry now.. I'm here."
"I just don't know what to do, Kookie.. I thought that if we capture the killer, it'll help him and us to have justice for his death, to make him finally go peacefully. But I guess we can't." I heard her sniffed and felt my shirt getting wet so I hugged her a little tighter making her feel comfortable around me.
"I don't know what do to, either, Chae.. It hurts me too to not have enough justice for hyung. I just make myself look strong in front of everyone especially to you because you're the most affected here..." I pulled away a little then cupped her face to make her look me. "...but just so you know..I'll always be here for you, okay? I love you.." I kissed her forehead lovingly.
"I love you, too, Kookie.." She gave me a sincere smile which made me smile back at her.
"C'mon.. Let's buy ice cream. My treat." She nodded then hand in hand again, we walked together to our favorite ice cream parlor.
CHAEYOUNG'S POV
After clearing our minds with ice cream.. Jungkook and I both agreed to hangout in my house. We decided to play video games after watching some horror movies to help me erase those scenes that me scared me to death. Yeah.. I'm not a horror movie fan but Jungkook insisted me to watch so I did for the sake of not getting a punishment from him which is a tickle for ten minutes.
"Hell yeah~ I'll wiiiin~"
"Not today, boy."
"Waaaah~ I'm losing controool~" his car goes twisting and turning until it crashes on the conrete wall making me automatically the winner. "Waaah~ that's unfair~" he whined and crosses his arms around his chest.
"That's what you get for cheating!"
"I'm not cheating."
"Yes you are"
"I did not!"
"Yes you did"
"Did not!" He inched closer to me.
"You did" then I did the same. We keep on getting close to each other until we're centimeters apart.
"Did not!"
"You d--" I was left startled when he pulled me close and kissed me. I was so shocked at the moment that I didn't even move for a few seconds but responded after.
After what I felt like forever, he slowly pulled away and looked at me straight in the eyes and smiles. "Strawberry."
I can't help but giggle and blush at the same time."But you still cheated." I stick out my tongue at him and chuckled.
"I told you I did not!" He flicked my forehead playfully.
"Fine, fine. You didn't." I raised both my hands up as if I'm surrendering. He, then, laid his head on my lap as he laid straight down on the bed. "Sleepy?" I asked which he answered a nod immediately. "Okay.. You can just sleep here tonight. I know you're already tired to go back home." I caressed his fluffy and soft hair.
He smiled at me while his eyes are closed. "Thanks. I really have a beautiful and caring girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?" I looked at him.
"Mhm.. Girlfriend. Wae? What do you think we are? Friends?"
I looked away, not knowing what to answer. Then I heard him chuckled.
"Just because I didn't say it, it doesn't mean we're not together. I wouldn't be doing this things with you if we're not in a relationship."
"But... you haven't asked me out yet."
"Oh.. is that what you've been waiting all along?" He sat up and looked at me then I just gave him a nod.
"Oh.. Alright. I get it now. I guess I got it wrong all along.." He then hold my hands and looked at me straight to my soul. "Chaeyoung-ah.. do want to go out with me?" he asked me, trying to hold his laughter.
"Yah.. Jeon Jungkook.. What's so funny about it huh?" I got a little pissed about it.
"Sorry, Chae.. I'm not used to do that. It's just that, when I start acting sweet to a girl then she does the same to me, I already know that we're thing now. Sorry if you didn't see it that way."
"It's okay, Kookie.. I was just waiting for a confirmation because I don't wanna assume stuffs like that."
He then cupped my face and pecked my lips. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
