The Search

Part 2

Kim puts down her coffee and puts her hands in a praying position on her lips. She leans forward a bit, stares at Lauren and narrows her eyes.

          “Okay. I have an idea! I wanna challenge you.” Kim said. “Are you up for it?” she asked.

          Lauren pauses and thinks about it for a moment. “Uh, okay.” She replied hesitantly.

Bianca gets a cupcake and takes a bite. “Dis gon be gud!” she said. She moves closer to hear everything better.

“You think you won’t be able to find a guy who will treat you right, right?” Kim asked. Lauren just shrugged.

“I challenge you to find the guy who meets your standards, a gentleman. If you do, I will pull off a Miley Cyrus and cut my hair. If you fail, you have to stop wearing those fake glasses. I mean, you’re not fooling anyone, babe.” Kim said.

“You chose this time to challenge me to do that, when I’ve completely given up on boys? Huh!” Lauren complained. “But, I would like to see you with short hair. I accept!” she continued.

Lauren offered her hand for a handshake. Kim and Lauren shook hands, sealing the deal.

“It’s on like Donkey Kong!” Kim said.

“I wonder what will happen. Hmm?” Bianca said.

“I’ll win for sure.” Lauren said arrogantly. She then picked up her coffee and took a sip.

EXAM TIME!

Lauren enters the room and finds a seat. She sits next to a random guy. She becomes clumsy when she’s nervous. And she’s extremely nervous about this exam. She drops her pencil. She’s a nervous wreck!

The guy picks up Lauren’s pencil and hands it back to her.

“You dropped your pencil. Here you go.” He said.

“Thanks.” Lauren said.

“Are you nervous?” he asked.

“You have no idea! I’m so nervous about this test, I’m gonna pee on my pants.” She said and regretted saying it the second she finished her sentence. Her eyes widen in shock. “Why did I say that?” she thought.

“Forget I said that.” she said to him.

The boy just smiles at her.

Lauren turns her back on the boy. They start taking the exam. Every now and then, Lauren looks at him. She took the exam as quickly as she could. Lauren stands up to submit her answer sheet and walks out the room.

Back in her dorm room, Lauren is on her bed, thinking about the boy in her class. She is restless. She stands then sits then stands up again.

“Who is that guy? He looks good. And he dresses up nicely too. I’m so confused right now!” she mumbled.

At the Student Union, Kim is “stalking” the boys that she likes.

Jude Barnes, a mysterious boy who kind of acts like a bad boy. He is in most of Kim’s classes. He is sitting with his feet up and his Beats by Dr. Dre headphones on. And on the other side of the Student Union is Tyler, reading a book.

“They’re both so cute! What’s Lauren thinking, making me choose between those two beautiful boys over there?” Kim pondered.

Tyler stands up and walks towards the door. Kim stands up too and builds up the courage to talk to Tyler.
