Chapter 16: The Spy

Lloyd and Kai headed to the market in Ninjago city. Lloyd looked around for a store that sells jewelry to find something perfect for Violet. Kai followed behind so he could give some assistance...and the others did rock, paper, clamp for it and Kai lost. Kai was very bored and groaned because Lloyd was taking forever, and they had to be back in less than an hour.

While they were walking, Kai spotted a young women who looked about his age with loose clothing and a skinny figure. She was looking at a flower boutique and smiled to see a butterfly land on her nose. She giggled. His heart thumped. She was kinda hot and not at all boring.

Kai stepped up to her and put on some charm, forgetting all about Lloyd, "Why hello there." The girl gasped. She was startled to see the red ninja next to her. Also she wasn't very comfortable talking to people. She shyly said, "Hi...." Kai asked smoothly leaning against a table, "What you're name?" The girl said moving her hair in her eyes, "Mae..." Kai grinned. "Cute name for a cute girl." Mae stepped back a bit. Not noticing this, Kai continues to pursue using one of his pick up lines, "Well people call me Kai, but you can call me tonight." He winked. Mae was a bit weirded out, "What?" Kai rubbed his hair, "What? I thought you liked it." Mae shook her head, "No sorry.."

Mae turned away and Kai sighed walking away from her. Little did he know, she was sent on a mission to spy on the ninjas every move by her company. She looked behind her back to see he slowly walked away with a slump in his step. Kai kicked the ground. What happened to him? Girls usually never turn him down..has he lost his mojo?

Then he bumped into Lloyd who knew Kai had left him. Lloyd said, "Really, Kai? I need help finding something for my date and you decide to bug a girl who obviously doesn't want to be bothered?" Kai looked down, "Sorry, I just couldn't resist." Lloyd was still mad, "You can't resist it for one messily day?!" Kai frowned, "Dude, I said I'm sorry okay." Lloyd softened and sighed, "Kai, I didn't mean to sound rude. I'm just really stressed about this whole date thing." Kai patted Lloyd's back, "It's gonna be fine. I should be helping you, I see that now. No more flirting till I help you prepare. Now take in deep breaths and let's continue the search." Lloyd did as Kai said and felt a lot better, "Thanks Kai." Kai wrapped one arm around him, "Hey, no problem little dude."

They continued to walk but soon felt like they were being followed. Lloyd looked back quickly and saw it was the girl. He whispered to Kai, "Kai, the girl you were talking to is following us.." Kai smirked, "Maybe she wanted more of this guy!" He pointed to himself. Lloyd sighed, "Isn't Skylor your girlfriend?" Kai quickly defended, "No!" Lloyd shrugged, "Let's keep moving." They walked and the girl continued to stalk them. They could feel the presence of Mae behind their backs.

Finally they turned around to a startled Mae, having enough. Kai said with a tone, "Ok sister, why are you following us," then he grinned, "Is it because of me?" He wiggled his eyebrows at her, and Lloyd had his arms crossed annoyed. Mae was caught. What would they do? They were on to her. If they found out, her boss would freak! She nervously frowned, "I'm following you guys because..", she looked at Lloyd and thought of something, "I'm a Lloyd fangirl." Mae went over to Lloyd and grabbed his face and kissed his cheek. She backed away and went into a sprint after saying, "Goodbye."

Kai was fumed at Lloyd's kiss. He kicked the ground and moaned. Lloyd just stood there in light pink startled face. He stared after her...she was cute. -no! He slapped the cheek where Mae kissed him. He shook his head and pulled on Kai's sleeve an dragged him down the path. You're here for Violet. You're hear for Violet..
