Ninjago Love Story

Chapter 8: On the Way Home

So a bit later, they were all walking home carrying all the gear. Nya was a little up ahead, so the guys decided to talk. They were all able to take their cookie suits off and they were excited.

Cole sighed in thanks, "I'm so glad I got to take that costume off. I felt like I was trapped in that sweaty mess."
Zane agreed, "It was very cramped."
Kai also said, "It felt like forever selling all those treats. My back is sore from standing around."
Jay laughed, "What about you Lloyd?" Lloyd was deep in thought.
Jay asked again, "Um, what about you, Lloyd?"

Lloyd looked up, startled but didn't faze. He didn't really know what they were talking about and said, "Uh, yeh sure."
Kai then asked, "Are you ok, Lloyd? You were a bit quiet on our walk back."
Lloyd sighed, "Well, it's just, I feel a bit off. I mean, why am I now starting to like girls..in a different way? I wasn't young too long ago."
Zane answered, "Well, now since you got turned older, you will have a different perspective on things. This is one of them."
Lloyd shrugged, "I guess that makes sense."
Jay patted Lloyd's back, "Oh, Lloyd, you will be fine. You are looking at someone who had a hard core relationship."
Cole grunted, "I had one to."
Zane heard him, "That is true, Jay and Cole both dated, and with the same girl."
Cole put his hand in his pocket and held the stuff with one hand, "Let's please not bring that up.."
Jay thought it was a great idea. "Yes please. Me and Cole have not been equal in this topic and I'm a little sick of it."
Jay then added, "Besides, I don't think we have that problem anymore, you know, both of us liking the same girl. Right buddy?"
Cole put on a fake smile. "Uh..yeh, that's right."

Cole then looked down. He still did have a bit of feelings for Nya, but he didn't want to hurt Jay again so he decided to just forget about liking her. Cole was finding it hard to do.
Kai frowned as they walked and groaned, "Can we not talk about love right now? It's a little agitating."
Jay then smirked, "You're just upset that Skylor hasn't talked to you in a while."
Kai rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
Lloyd laughed a little, "I kind of agree with Kai. Let's talk about something else."
Jay got a little too pumped up. "Ok, let's think! What shall we talk about...guys?"

Nya had stopped walking and started to stop them, "How about the fact we are half way there and none of you thought of using your elemental dragons!"
That's when the guys started to slap their heads.
Cole then yelled, "Knew I was forgetting something!"
Zane then said, "At least we all thought of it now and not when we got all the way there."
Kai smiled at Zane's good attitude even though he was a Nindroid. "That's right. Let's do it."
Nya then stopped them again and said, "Make sure you don't drop the stuff."
Kai shook his head at his sister, "We won't..mom." Nya playfully punched her brother as he sneaked a smile.
Jay then yelled over as he got his dragon up and running, "Hey, Nya, you can ride on with me..if you want to of course."
Nya looked as if she hesitated for a milli second but then said happily, "Sure, Jay, I'll ride with you." And she ran over to him.
Jay accidentally yelled out, "Yes!" Then tried to cover it up, "Uh, I mean yay.." Nya just shrugged.

Then in a moment, they got in the air.
Lloyd then said, "Hey, how about we talk about that girl, Julienne."
Nya then smirked holding on to Jay, "She thought she'd win again, but I got on top!"
They all cheered.
Kai cackled and began, "Yeh, she did a huge temper tantrum when they disqualified her."
Jay laughed historically at the memory, "Oh my gosh, that was ridiculous. Who does that?"
Cole then said, "Someone who's secretly a big baby."
Lloyd laughed at their observations, "Heh, I wish I could have seen it."
Zane then told him, "Do not worry, it was recorded in my photo drive in my data base. I can show it to you when we get back."
Lloyd said, "Cool, thanks."

Nya pulled away some hair from her face, "It's cool that you get to ride on these on your adventures. It'd be awesome to do that someday."
Kai agreed, "Yeh, it's pretty sweet. If you were a ninja, you'd ride on these."
Nya shrugged, "All well, I don't really want to be a ninja anyway. I'm fine at just being a samurai X."
Nya really had no desire to become a ninja. Besides, she was already good at being a samurai X, why change?
Cole replied, "Sure, you are really good at that. I don't think you'd be a ninja anyway, since Kai got his power from his dad."
Kai wasn't so sure, "Yeh, but remember what Garmadon said We all have a power in us, we just haven't unlocked it."

Lloyd looked ahead then. He sighed to himself as his heart grew heavy. He missed his father.
Zane noticed and said, "Your dad did a very heroic thing to sacrifice himself to save Ninjago."
Nya pitched in, "He will always be remembered."
Lloyd couldn't agree more, "Yeh, he was great."
Kai whispered to them, "Let's not talk about this anymore."
Jay smiled brightly and said, "Soo, Nya, when's the next bake off?"
Nya groaned to herself and answered, "I don't want to think about that right now, heh. All I know is we did great this year."

As they were flying, they fell silent collecting their thoughts. All of them were just focused on getting home and such. Jay then spotted an ice cream shop and really wanted to go so they decided to take a quick stop. They all walked towards the shop and could smell it from a mile away. It wasn't that packed, but it wasn't deserted. When they were waiting in line, Jay was deciding what flavor he should get. "Hmm, maybe I should get cookies and cream, no. Chocolate chip, no. Mint? I'm not sure."
Kai didn't have to think very long for his choice. He pointed at the sign and said, "I'm gonna get chocolate. It's always been my favorite."
Cole smiled to himself as he found what he was going to buy, "Birthday cake. Yum!"
Zane asked Cole, "When you have the opportunity, do you always ask for birthday cake?"
Cole kind of played with his pockets, "Uh, most of the time..." Cole wasn't fooling anyone.
Kai just said, "Right."
Lloyd also then decided his flavor, "I'm gonna choose..sherbet. What can I say, it's a good flavor."
Zane also chose his, "I'm going to pick vanilla. It's a classic."
Nya just said, "I'm picking strawberry."
Jay groaned. He could not decide which one he should choose.
He looked at the list and said, "I'll just get..cookie dough."

So then they had their flavors and got up to the register and ordered. The lady at the counter was a little frazzled since the ninja were at the ice cream shop she was working at. At first she screamed and in shock fainted. Then in a moment regained consciousness and took their orders in a good but fan-girling manner. The lady messed up a bit before getting the orders right. Her hand was a bit shaky just handing the ice cream to them. Jay was worried that the girl would drop his cone.

Then they sat down at a table and talked.
Cole was the first to start talking, "Mm, this is really good."
Kai nodded, "One of the best I've ever tasted."
Nya smiled, "Yeh, I wonder why we haven't went here before."
Zane then suggested, "It is a little bit out of the city."
Nya looked down at her ice cream. "We should visit this again sometime."
Jay licked his cone. "I agree."

A while later they finished and rode their dragons to the bounty to end the night.

Zane: I think we all are.
Lloyd: *Blushes* Heh heh.
Jay: Is Zane the only one in a relationship right now?
Me: I guess so.
Zane: XD
Kai: *rolls his eyes* Could you not gloat about it?
Zane: Whoops sorry, I didn't know it offended you this bad, you know, since you haven't talked to Skylor at all.
Kai: That's it!
*Kai chases Zane around the room*
Me: Why does this always happen?
