James POV.

Something was wrong with her. And she's not telling me the truth.

If she isn't do I want to know? I can tell we both haven't been telling the other the whole truth.

Is that a good thing?

She has no idea what my plan for today is. I hope she likes it I have it all planned.

After we eat breakfast I'll let her go back to her room and tell her to get dressed in comfortable clothes.

She'll probably be in shock. But I hope she'll be excited.

"James can I speak with you?" My father was saying and then he walked out.

"Yeah sure", I called out as my step mom came into the room and asked if she could speak with Jane.

"Yes ma'am. Sure." She looked over at me with a questioning look, I just shrugged because I didn't know and I had to hurry up and catch up to my father.

I gave her what I thought was an assuring glance, then went to hurry and catch up to my father.

No telling what he wanted. Take that back no telling what step monster wanted.

I quickly found him standing close to his study.

" You've made it. Let's go in the study shall we."

Ok was my reply.

I walked in and could tell he was most likely going to tell me something serious.

He sat down in his big chair, fit for a King. Which he is one.

"So are you serious about Jane?"

I was really sure I was so ,"yes Father. I want to marry her and only her."

"Hmmm. Ok. Do you know about her parents? Do you think she's in it for the money? The kingdom?"

" I know little about her parents but I don't think she's in it for the money or the kingdom. Infact I think she could care less about what anyone thinks of her. I think we belong together. I love her and she loves me. Can't you see it in her eyes?"

His father's eyes clouded over in thought. I was getting anxious. What if he didn't believe me? Of course our engagement is a lie. But no one really knows that.

No one can know that.

" I see. I'm wondering what Marissa is telling her. It can't be good." Wait what? His father didn't trust his wife? What is going on?

" What do you mean father"

"I mean that I don't know why Marissa wants to talk to her. Seriously, and I'm sorry son I didn't want to bring you in here to discuss Jane. That's just what I wanted Marissa to think. I have serious explaining to do. And I need to tell you something but first I need you to bring your brother in here, this involves both of you."

"Yes Father." Of course me wanting to know what he was talking about I ran -literally- to go and find my brother.

I hope he's where I think he is. He loves this place, I can't entirely explain why.

I opened the big doors to the library and thanked the gods that he was reading a book. He does it sometimes when he has something on his mind. That's what he tells Marissa, me and father know the truth.

He does it because he loves it.

"C'mon bro. Dad wants us in his study".

"K. Let me finish this page". Wow.

"Sorry bro, finish that sentence and let's go."

He looked at me with a murderous glance but he got up anyway. We walked in silence both wondering what he wanted to talk to us about. Well I was wondering, I don't know what he was thinking. Maybe something to do with the book he was reading before I came in and disturbed his silence.

We walked up to his study door and opened it.

" We're here father" I said knowing he would be relieved that he didn't have to go and find us. Well Liam, sometimes my brother likes to runoff and not tell anyone where he's going.

But for some reason I have a feeling that I know at least the general location of where I can always find him.

" Ok just sit down. It's gonna be a long talk..." And with that he went straight into the conversation.

" Marissa is planning on sabotaging your coronation. To be honest I think she is planning on telling Jane to go back home where she belongs. But I think when I married her I made the wrong decision. I would have never married again if it wasn't for her father. He was about to die and wanted to see his daughter married. Being the fool I was I accepted her but I never loved her.
The reason I brought both of you here is to tell you that I'm going to divorce her and that James will become king as soon as the divorce is final. Which will be in like a week. And I'm sorry if you guys liked her, but I don't and I never have and I hope you respect my decision."

Me and Liam looked at each other and said together " We never liked her".

"You didn't?"

"Nope we just thought you were happy, so we went along with it. We never really liked it much. Their is something off about her, but we could never really figure out what. And now that you said that you don't love her everything fell into place. How you only seemed to smile at her when in the presence of a crowd of people ,or visitors. How you only sat by her when we were at the dinner table"

"And how you only went into the bedroom and left when you thought everyone was asleep.", Liam butted into my speech.

"But why is she talking to Jane?", My father asked.

"I don't know but whatever it is it can't be good." With that we all three went into the hall to try and find where Marissa had take Jane.

A/n the next couple chapters will be in Jane's POV.and I wonder if I mentioned before this that James brothers name is Liam? Well if I didn't his name is liam.im sorry this is kinda long.
The chapters after this will probably be longer than this one. But I'll make sure there is some short chapters too.
