Chapter 1

Maddison is a 8 year old girl who has an ordinary life. She has long, blue hair with yellow eyes. She has light skin. She is wearing blue overalls wth a pink shirt and brown shoes.
She just finished third grade with her friend Josh. Summer was beginning and Josh and Maddison were very bored.
Josh has short dark brown hair with brown eyes and dark skin. He wears a blue shirt with red pants and blue shoes.
Maddison and Josh were just sitting on the couch. They were channel surfing, hoping to find something good to watch. Suddenly, the telephone rang.
"Got it!" Maddison and Josh both yell as they charge toward the telephone and bicker over who should pick up the call. Maddison ended up getting the call.
"Hello, who is this?" Maddison asks.
"Hey Maddison!" Katie says. (Katie is one of Maddison's friends. "I'm throwing a celebration for us graduating second grade."
Katie has short pink hair with a purple stripe and she has green eyes. She wears a blue tank top with a red skirt.
"Really, that sounds interesting, and not boring!" Maddison says as her face brightens.
"There's a awesome pizzeria that I found on the internet. It's called Circus Baby's Rental Pizzeria. I heard it's really great!"
"Are you having your birthday party there?" Maddison asks.
"You bet girl!" Katie says. "Everyone is so excited about it. The party is in one week! Are you coming?"
"Let me ask Josh," Maddison answers.
"Okay, call me back," Katie says. "I hope you can make it!"
"Bye Katie!" Maddison says as she hangs up.
Maddison runs over to to Josh with a bright full cheer on her face.
"What's going on Maddison?" Josh asks.
"There's this birthday party that Katie is having an I was wondering if you'd like to come!" Maddison answers.
"Really, where?" Josh asks.
"Circus Baby's Rental Pizzeria!" Maddison answers. "There's going to be pizza and cupcakes, and a huge party!"
"No way!!! I don't like those animatronics!" Josh says. "They give me the creeps. I don't like clowns,"
"Come on Josh!" Maddison says. "It'll just be the class! No adults in the pizzeria. Isn't that exciting?!"
"It does sound great, but with a bunch of scary clown robots!?" Josh reasons. "You can go, but without me!"
"Come on Josh."
"No, I don't want to go there," Josh says. "I've had bad memories there,"
"Really? What kind of bad memories?" Maddison asks.
Josh pauses for a while, he looked like he wanted to tell Maddison about his past, but he shrugs it off.
"I just don't like it there," Josh says.
"Oh..." Maddison says.
Maddison and Josh end their conversation and it was time for Josh to leave. Josh and Madison didn't talk again for a while until 5 days later when Maddison calls Josh on the phone.
"Hey Josh," Maddison says.
"Hey Maddison," Josh answers. "Are you excited for Katie's party?"
"You bet I am," Maddison answers.
Maddison thought it was odd to talk to Josh again. She thought he didn't like her anymore. Even after he left the house 5 days ago.
"Are you sure you don't want to come? Maybe it won't be so bad if you come again," Maddison offers.
"No thanks, I'm good," Josh says. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine,"
"Okay, see ya again soon Josh," Maddison says.
"See ya Maddison. Hope you have fun,"
