(Veronica's POV)

I am awoken by the sounds of alarms, beeps and people yelling loudly. I open my eyes but still can only see blackness. Am I dead?

"This one's still got a pulse!" I hear as I feel a hand against my neck.

So I'm not dead, just unable to move, oh god, am I paralysed?!

"She's in a state of shock, get her in an ambulance right away."

I feel my body being lifted from the floor, and suddenly I remember everything; Rosemary Lane, The piercing scream, Ariana's lifeless body.

*Gasp* I inhale a deep breath as I open my eyes finally. But I'm no longer in the dark alley, I'm in a white room, surrounded by doctors and policemen.

"Where am I?" I ask, struggling to get my words out.

"It's okay, you're safe now." One of the doctors say.

"When you're up and ready, we're gonna have to ask you a few questions." A policeman says, giving me a nice smile.

Ariana is dead. Tears begin streaming down my face and my vision goes blurry once again. To help me, one of the doctors rushes away and brings me a box of tissues.

"Thank you.." I say, trying to dry my tears. "I need a minute."

"She needs more than a minute thank you very much." My mum says, bursting into the room and giving me a huge hug.

"Sorry, Miss, but another girls blood was discovered at the crime scene, we need to find out who your daughter was with last night." One of the policewoman says, turning to me.

"Ariana." I say, slowly exhaling in pain. "It was Ariana's blood, and body."

"Body?" The cop replies. "There was no body."

"No body? But-But I saw it, it was laid out in blood." I say, trying to get my words out.

The cops look back and forth at each other and then at me. "Tell us everything that happened."

(Daphne's POV)

Me and my friends; Ash, Ellie, Sofia and Michael, all sit in silence at our usual lunch table. Last night, Ariana, one of our best friends, was murdered. We all found out this morning and are still in utter shock over it. Who would wanna hurt Ari? And why?

"I can't take this!" Ellie yells out. "We can't just not talk all day. Yes, what happened sucks but we can't just cry silently."

Ellie was usually quite vocal about her feelings and isn't shy when it comes to expressing herself. She is pale with an adorably buttoned nose and round face, her look is completed with her dark brown hair.

"What is there to say?" Sofia interrupts. "I don't think any of us feel like talking right now."

From Greek descent, Sofia has beautiful olive skin and light brown hair which she always wears with a middle parting. Along with her beauty she unfortunately has a deep scar on the side of her face from when she was a baby, however she doesn't let this hold her back.

I look down at my half eaten salad and begin thinking of Ariana. This makes me loose my appetite. I try and pick up my fork one last time before Ash nudges it out of my hand.

"Oops." She says, picking it up from the table. "Didn't mean to do that... You gonna finish that?"

Anyone could see her eyeing up my salad from a mile away.

"No, it's fine. You can have it." Before I can finish my sentence, Ash pulls back her ashy-blonde hair and digs her face into the food and starts demolishing my salad. I guess we all have our ways of coping.
