chapter 1: Meeting someone special...

I left my house slamming the door behind .I walked fast as I was already late for the office . As I walked, I slowed down my pace, trying hard to recollect .....what did I forget?

I turned around and made my way back to the home. As soon as I rang the bell, my dad, Mr Kapoor was already at the door to my service. He held the keys of my car with a bright smile on his face. I took the keys and smiled sheepishly at him because this was my daily routine..... I forget the keys.

"I am always at your service ,Naina" dad said still smiling.

I grabbed the keys and and made my way to the car and sped off.

As I got on the road, the morning was usual and it was 8.45 am. Roads were clear as it was Saturday and I did not bump into the traffic.

Thank God!!!! spared from the traffic.

By the time I reached ,it was 8.55 am and Sophie was already waiting for me at my desk.

"Good morning mam", Sophie said cheerfully.

"Good morning", I said but failing miserably as I tried to sound as cheerful like her.

"Did Mr.Singh give the files? ", I asked without looking at her as I was busy tracing my charger.

She stuttered," ma....mam, actually he.......".

I closed the drawer with a bang and I looked at her with knitted eyebrows and that's when she withdrew her eyes from my gaze.

"Mam....ma...mam", she stammered.

"Why are you so scared??? I am just asking you where is Mr. Singh and you know that you have got nothing to do with it so just answer me", I snapped at the timid figure standing in the corner as if she had seen the ghost.

"May I come in", a voice said.

"Come in", I said aimlessly.

In trailed Mr.Singh with his head hung down in shame for not completing his work.

"So what excuse you have this time.... Mr.Singh? ", I said taking a deep breath.

Silence.

"I told you a month prior.... for this files to get checked", I snapped.

"Actually........", he added breaking the silence.

"You are not in school Mr.Singh that you will be excused for not doing your homework. It's a company you are working for", I said raising my voice with clear disappointment.

No one uttered a word and silence once again engulfed the room.

"You may leave Mr.Singh", I said turning my back to him.

"Sorry mam", Mr.Singh apologized and left the room.

I sat there calmly, palming my forehead when Sophie said," Mam, what are we going to show in the meeting when they ask for the files??? ". Her voice was terrified.
